The Pink PB will probably stabilize at around 700K like the Orange PB . . . still way expensive for a plain color though!

My permanent lab pet is pink at the moment, but 20K for popcorn? Ouch. I wonder if it'll go down soon? *debates spending so much on popcorn*

Hey guys i am back.

Rather disappoitning how this avatar is gotten. TNT should really look through and think about it.

There are so many avatars about colours and Paint Brushs are being sky rocketed like superman in frenzy mode. It is REALLY annoying yet stupid. Fancy doing this again. 1million plus for a plain coloured brush is just plain dumb. It corrupted the world, corrupts Neopets and corrupts young kiddies who play Neopets for the fun of it. Image yourself spending all your hard earnt money on a measly paint brush and spending furthur $ on a popcorn JUST to get a TINY avatar this is. PINK. It is downright despicable! In the future, TNT should really look back and see their mistakes. This is just .. just... pure stupidity.

Imagine i wasted so much of my time trying to find how to get the avatar only to find out it was all but a crappy one. Argh...

Oh, please! I would LOVE TNT to make a Maraquan Pet avatar like that. I think it would show everyone how disgustingly TNT is behaving lately. And hopefully masses of people will quit and TNT will realise that they have brains (I hope) and should use them.

You're dreaming. People are not going to quit over one expensive avatar. They've released lots of very rare and expensive ones already, and no one has quit over them. If they made an av that required you to paint your pet maraquan, the rich would get it and the poor would have one more thing to struggle towards. Meanwhile, anyone wanting to paint their pet maraquan would be fresh out of luck. Life would go on.

Personally, if they did that I would be quite upset. Maraquan brushes are rather expensive enough, thank you very much. I'd like to get my mara shoyru sometime in the next decade, please.

For those of you complaining about the avatar being expensive/waste of np to get, here's a solution - don't get it. Seriously, the lack of one avatar won't kill you.

I agree. The complaining is really out of control. The avatar is there for people who can/are willing to get it. You are by no means entitled to an avatar. If by some chance you do want an avatar that seems "impossible" for you to get, either:
start saving your np
practice that "impossible" game
equip a new petpet and wait it out
etc and so forth...
Not all avs are going to be clickable (what fun would that be?). Not all avs are going to be ridiculously low game scores. Not all avs will require low priced items like the Aychfi avvie. Some avs are challenging or difficult to get. Deal with it. It's really tiring to see people think they're entitled to get every avatar, have expensive pets, etc. If you work for it, anything is possible.

As for inflation, that's hardly TNT's fault. It's inevitable. I see no purpose with them interfering in the supply and demand schedule of the game. Let it take its course. Popcorn being low rarity will settle down eventually (especialy with the candy corn/dutch language thing). As for the pink paint brush, yes it will be priced a little higher. It will make pink that much rarer of a color. If it's too pricy for you, settle for something different. If you do really want it, you'll have a really special pet in the end. (Not that all pets aren't special. Your pets are what you make of them by loving them, giving them personalities, and not just their color. My blue tuskinny is just as special as my maraquan draik.) This site is not about instant gratification, but setting goals and working for them.

I think you're right. My Kacheek was labbed into pink from mutant 2 weeks ago, and only just turned ghost 3 days ago. I thought that was a really odd color to get... if only I had waited....

I don't care the least bit about the avatar. It's the out-of-control inflation on the site and the fact that TNT is making it worse, not better, that annoys me.

Of course the pink PB inflation is TNT's fault. When they create the demand for the item by creating the avatar, the resulting inflation is their fault. It was an act of TNT, not an act of God.

TNT could help keep PB prices down by making finding them around the site a more common random event: they probably could do it by changing one line of code. They haven't. That means the high PB prices in general are indeed their fault. (Moreover, I think the major surge of PB inflation was initiated by several events that were very clearly in TNTs control and seemed deliberately designed to raise PB prices: raising the price of the Darigan and Baby PBs in the Hidden Tower and retiring the Faerie PB.)

Moreoever, there have been some good ideas floating around about keeping overall inflation in check: releasing more items, re-distributing items from accounts that can't be returned, and so forth. Maybe TNT is really trying to keep inflation in check, but on this end it doesn't look like it. Trying to balance the creation of new NP via games, contest prizes, and stocks, and the destruction of NP via random events, freezings, and people buyging things from the official shops -- that's what will keep inflation in check, and TNT is responsible for it. When they don't do that, yes, the resulting inflation is their fault (or at least, their responsibility.)

As for the notion that making the PB more expensive is OK because it makes it more "special" and gives people something to work for: oh, please. A simple colorfill that makes your pet pink instead of blue isn't made more "special" by making it cost a million NP. It's still just a bloody colorfill, and exactly the same as it was when it cost 200k. What costing 700k makes it is overpriced, not special.

No one wants instant gratification on the site. If painting pets were free, it wouldn't be fun. But while 700k or 1 million NP may not seem like a lot to you, for someone who's stuck on dial-up that could be six months' work -- or more. Free painting may not be fun, but having to play a game for that long just to turn a pet pink isn't fun, either. It's a chore. It's work. Discover that one's goals are not just difficult, but impossible to achieve in any reasonable period of time isn't fun.

I think most people who play Neopets already have a never-ending list of goals they're working for: I know I do. We don't need out-of-control inflation to give people something to work for. There's plenty to work for already without it.

Don't get me wrong, I like Neopets. When I joined, I thought it was fun. I still think it's fun, but inflation is making the game less and less fun for more and more people -- including me -- and I don't like to see that.

Which is pretty much the same thing I said a couple pages ago. Yes, the site is a game. None of this matters in the great scheme of things. But when I play a game, I do so to enjoy myself, to have a bit of relaxation. I don't want to have to slave away for hours (or days, or months) just so I can continue to participate in something recreational.

I wasn't even going to try for this avatar. Until, today, I happened to get a Fountain Faerie quest. So, I painted one of my pets pink. Now, if only I could find some popcorn on the floor or something.

You know, the entire 50+ months I have been on neopets, I never had a fouuntain faerie quest. Then, I get 2 in a month. What is up with that?
