That one is pretty decent for the start of the game, though all guides will reflect the way the author likes to play the game. The start of the game is a real drag - Levelling up takes a while and you get through a lot of potions.

Hunting mode will make sure you go up the levels quite fast but walking around in normal mode will give healing for each step you take. I personally prefer to stay safe and use normal mode but it can get boring. The enemies in the cave can hit reasonably hard to make sure you heal if you're on hunting mode.

If anyone wants a really good breakdown of the skills, go to http://geocities.com/neoquest_2/, and click on "Skill Related Stuff" On the left.

The site also has a list of all inventory items(sorted, I might add.) info on how ofen you heal, and how much depending on your current hp, and some other nice stuff. ^^ (Plus maps, of course.)

Aahh... I still can't decide! Celestial hammer or mesmerization? I figure I'll have 11 points left over from maximizing Velm's other 4 skills..

What are your four skills that your putting points into? I spent 11 in both innates, group shielding, and group healing, did the math, and I have the points to also put into single healing. I'd personally rather to have that then to spend in moves like cels. hammer or mesmerization, neither is really that usefull in the long run, mes. is only really nice to have versus the faeries, and you can just get a staff that gives you the points you need.

I like to skip getting Talinia, because she pretty much makes the party get less EXP per battle and stops mesmerizations.

I put 10 in Mesmerization, 10 in Single Healing, 12 in both innates, and 11 in group shields. I spend the other 4 points after I get all the equipment in the end that raises the rest of the skills.

Yeah. I skip Talinia when I play Normal, because it's just so much faster. When you don't pick her up, she'll appear at Sakhmet City, Swamp Gulch, and the Faerieland beginning. It's kind of hard to explain in words, but they appear there, ready to be picked up.

Someone had screencaps.

If you mean the island where Zombom is... after.
You need to climb the tower, defeat Zombom and go back to White River, then you'll be able to go cross the bridge and find Mipsy :)

After all that effort in hopes of getting a decent weapon.. of COURSE I had to get Tooth of Terask.

However, I found that Mesmerization is better than Celestial Hammer as a form of delaying a monster's next turn.. like if a monster's next turn is in 0.1 sec and Velm manages to Mermermize a monster for 15 secs , when somebody else attacks it, the monster will sometimes have to wait 3-6 seconds until its turn again.
