I have a story to tell...

I logged in today, just like any other day. When I went to zap my lab pet, it was a different color from yesterday (before I labbed it today). I thought, "Well that's strange". Then I clicked on the button to lab my pet, and it says that I can only use it once a day? Then I start to get a little worried, because I know for a fact that I didn't use the lab today (I don't have any borthers or sisters that would have access to my account). Then I went to all of the dailies... you guessed it, they were all done already. Now I am starting to get even more worried.

I immediately looked in my inventory. Nothing was there, and I know that I had more than 10-15 expensive items in there, with the rest being junk. Then I went to my SDB... nothing was there. I only had about 40 items in there, but over 30 of them were all over 80k+ (most more than 200k). Then, I go to my bank account, I am completely wiped out! It took me months to save up all of my np (well over one million, my first million). That is what upset me most of all.

I am a smart neopian, been on for over a year: no clicking strange links, no giving out my password, no talking to people on messengers, I change my password every so often... so how?!

Anyone have any idea on how this happened to me? I can't believe some people out there have to get there kicks just from stealing money and items that aren't even real.

That's really got to suck :( Did they somehow get into your email account, and find out your password that way?

Gone, forever.

Probably... I have heard that it is easy to crack Yahoo mail. :(

Some people are so pathetic out there.

If it makes you feel any better, you can have my current account. I was thinking about quitting anyway. The name is albiino, and you can PM me for the password. There's nothing too good in there anymore, but every little bit helps.

I'm assuming you didn't have a password that was anywhere near guessable from the names of your pets or anything like that. It is perplexing, did you get an e-mail saying your password? I think I got one last week, so I changed my password and e-mail that was used right after it came just incase someone was going to try to hack my e-mail account or something. Sorry that had to happen to you :(

There was a thing in Kazaa telling how to hack yahoo or something. That might be how it worked. Did you use a public computer? They might have keyloggers that admins can access. People could potentially hack the comp and access them for your password

No public computer, just my home computer. My password isn't any of my pet names, and as I said before it is changed regularly.

What a weird hacker - doing the dailies and labbing the pet?! That's seriously odd..

But sorry for your losses mocha :(

But even if they could hack into yahoo how would they know which email address you had listed in your userinfo?
