Grave Danger
Showed up in the news today (well, a little before, but still). You need a Petpet equipped to do this, and apparently there's an NC item you can give to it as well?

So far, no one's pets have come back from adventuring yet, so who knows what happens when they do.

Your petpet does show up as this image on your lookup while in Grave Danger:

Also, you cannot unequip your petpet while it is in Grave Danger.

The status seems to change every hour or so (I'm on my third - so far something about Chewing on a cultists robe, Found a Peanut, and now Dug up some bones and played with them for a bit.)

I used one an extra Purple Valeous from the event drops that I still hadn't sold and equipped it to my labbie. In other words...if something happens to it, I'm OK with that...

Repeating what I posted in the plot topic since it's relevant to this new daily.

There are reports that people have lost their petpets (though I'm not sure if that's just speculation/rumor-mongering right now...), and others' petpets have been cursed (not sure what this actually does; apparently it gives a time penalty? or maybe they read the time remaining and thought that was a penalty?).

P.S. I will not be awake when my pet is done, and many people's pets will finish while Neopets is down for maintenance. I wonder if the ending is automatic, or if it's like the Moltara Caves, where you have to properly end it for it to reset for the next day.

Maybe the lost petpets is people panicking about the changed image on their lookup? I'm not sure. So much to still find out.

Mine ends in a little over 2 1/2 hours, and I might still be awake for it when it does (and Neo won't be down yet), so hopefully I'll be able to report in what happens to me.

When the timer gets down to 0, you have to refresh the page and then you get your prize. JN is working to compile a prize list.

Once you get your prize, you can start over again (with the same or different petpet). This time I have a nearly 10 hour wait...which is fine, especially since it's sleep time anyways.

Well, that wasn't really worth staying up for... (or waking up via alarm, to be more accurate). I immediately had the option to adventure again with a 6:20:10 wait time. It'll just have to wait until I wake up. Goodnight!

Not particularly enthused with this feature. First time in I was smacked with a 9 hour wait. Fun!

I have about 2 hours left. Hopefully the prize will be something nice.

Edit: Received a Pottery Shard Dagger.

Sent in a different petpet. 7 ½ hours wait.

Second prize: square gelatin.

My petpet brought back a Banjo.

Sent him right back in. Status: Invited to be mascot of a cult. Declined the offer.

Still using Aoife, my pirate poppit. Are we actually putting our petpets at risk? Should I adopt a poundie and give it a junker?

Can't remember how long my wait was (8-something?) -- I just remember it put me into "not getting up at 4am" territory. Actually, looking at it, it's more 5-something, so I'll be up close to when it's done (I woke up before it was done today).

Luckily TNT answered an Editorial question about that, Siniri. Thankfully nothing will happen to our beloved petpets.

I actually hadn't thought of it when I put my Plumpy (with Springabee) in the catacombs. I switched straight away when he came back but I was a little worried I had done something stupid. LOL.

Now I am just giving the other petpet (I now have 3 pets) a go down the catacombs.


I am hoping there is an avatar along the way for this (wishful thinking, probably), but with the long waits it is a rather dull daily.

Although, I suppose with the longer waits, the new prizes wont deprecitate as quickly and we should be able to make a profit if we sell straight away. Ok, strike that thought! Green Sticky Hand was selling for 30K, it is now selling for 15K. I am still trying to sell mine.

ETA: Petpet bought back a Minor Healing Ointment. In again for another 7 hours 17 minutes.

I must say these waiting times are weird! Why can't they just be an even hour!

Snot lotion. Ew. 8h 27 minutes. I agree about the times; why not just make it a 6-hour or 8-hour daily to sync with others?

Phew, thanks for the info, Daze. Yeah, I was not going to risk the Island Candychan or Maraquan Snowickle (both zaps, but they match their respective pets -- or at least the IC matches what the pet will be once I stop lab-training her). It's not like the pirate poppit is exactly cheap, either (though I suppose it is, now, since I presume pirate petpet paint brushes have gone down like everything else pirate...). Now I know it's safe, I'll let them take turns.
