Why do you collect avatars ??

I was recently thinking, I hardly ever post on the Neoboards, but I love collecting avatars (199 ). Why do I collect them ?? It gives me something to do with Neopets (I seem to find myself wanting to leave the site without a goal in mind). What about you ?? What fuels you to collect 'em all ?

I like setting goals and having something to keep me occupied, even if it's something as simple as clicking on a link to get a certain avy.

Hmmm... that's a hard one to decide. I'm quite the addict (241), but lately, have been slacking from collecting, and am shockingly close to getting the Collectors avatar, so I hear (on reset, it's easier then). I do like setting goals, but rarely stick to them. I dunno, it really gives me something to do and keep me interested.

I just like collecting stuff in general, so I started collecting avatars. And since I'm helping out with the new PPT avatar catalog, it makes it even easier for me to keep myself motivated to continue collecting. ^_-

the_dog_god ~> I feel the same way. Collecting avatars was a goal of mines to keep me busy in Neopets. But I slacked off and disappeared from Neopets til now. Back for the Advent. xP

I like using the avatars, too. ^^ And I like to collect things in general.

I collect them but only the easy ones; I don't have a chance of reaching the high score table so I mainly just have the clickies or the really cheap ones. They're pretty is what I voted for. And I never post on the Neoboards; I haven't used them in... a long time, more than a year, probably. I'm just too afraid of getting my account frozen.

I don't necessarily collect them, but I like having things when i can get them because even though i don't care much for them i don't want to later on get into them for some reason and then regret not getting some of them when i had the chance... plus boredom.

I don't collect avatars though they do seem to accumulate. But considering I am rubbish at flash games and have four permanent pets on my main account that I'll never risk moving there isn't much point to me collecting ^^ Which is nice as I can spend my nps on other things.

I think it's fun though if you have the means to do so and I try and get the prettier ones if I can, as long as they aren't too expensive anyway

I collect them because I do.

I started to collect them a long while ago, so now it mostly happens because I have it programmed inside.

I guess it's a goal for me.. it was fun while it started though.. I used to practice for games that I can't get the avatar for obssessively (think: 12 hours for RoM at one time).. but now that I don't have much time.. I've been slacking off collecting them

Not helping that I haven't gotten a lot of the random ones like the tooth faerie and FF yet.. nor the fishing one when I am already at level 112.. I've been thinking why collect the game ones when I can't get the random ones >_>

Maybe it's the trophy that stopped me.. since I already have it I'd rather I dropped off the whole Hi-score table althgether

I collect avatars because it gives me something to do on neopets I was on a year hiatus or so because I was kind of bored of Neopets and when I came back the first while was dedicated to getting as many avatars as I could, and then I rmembered why I liked Neopets so much. ^_^

Status.

I figure Im never going to be the richest person, or the person with the most trophies, etc.

But if i have a lot of avatars and stamps, and all that good stuff on my userlookup then Im doing pretty well for myself on Neo.
