Oh, for the love of - not again!! Wasn't there a similar glitch on some other pet day recently? If so, you'd think TNT would've recieved enough complaints about it (and thus get it fixed) by now...

Could it be that your pet's level is too high? Cap'n Threelegs will only train pets up to level 40. If your pet's level is 41 or higher, you can't visit the Swashbuckling Academy.

If that's not the reason, then perhaps TNT forgot to activate it.

He's only level one (thanks, lab ray), so the limit shouldn't be the issue.

Off I head to the Bug Report page.

Hmmmn... since they changed ownership I wonder just how much has changed behind the scenes. Could be that there is a new team in charge who just didn't follow the game closely to see how is used to run. Could be that corporate doesn't want to shell extra money into something that is already generating income.

It makes me wonder what the player stats have become. Are they the same as they were this time last year? Or have Neopets gained/lost players? If they've GAINED players, I doubt much will change. They're doing less, paying out less, and making more. If they've lost players, I wonder how long the trend of meager updates will last before they wake up and start fixing their errors.

Here's a chart of the pageviews at Neopets over the past 5 years or so: Click
It's interesting to see how much they've dropped since this past December.

It also tries to make you pay if you put the pet in for training before the free training took effect(like you put him in at 11:59, at midnight you're supposed to start getting free training, but it still says you have to pay). Try a couple more times, maybe it'll randomly take effect?

I must be behind the times. New ownership? Or are you still referring to the June, 2005 Viacom purchase?

Yeah, the free pet training isn't working for me either. And here I was so pleased that FINALLY one of my pets was going to get a pet day that lasted the whole weekend.

Guess TNT put one over on me. : P

neopets just isn't what it used to be. :(
and for ME to say i'm really getting tired of it... well that means something.
I'm not ready to quit yet, but if it keeps going on like this, i just might.
Do they not know or care that they're losing so many players because of their poor customer relations?

Players in general maybe, but they haven't lost us (read: dedicated players) really yet. I mean, we all talk about how much we dislike them and their policies and ..well, mainly everything, and yet we just keep playing and complaining. While TNT is alienating their core group of players, we haven't been pushed to the limit. Once they cross the line, then they'll starting 'caring', but now that neopets is owned by viacom, there is no love, just a way to make a profit.
