So is TNT just trying to make us stop blocking ads? The reason I blocked them is because some of the ads were inappropriate and some were really flashy wich is really distracting. I even heard that some people got a virus and pop up windows from it. (not sure that is true though)

Sadly, the virus from one of the rotating ad servers is TRUE. Anyway, for IE users, make a plain text file in Notepad and add (not sure if the last line is needed, but it certainly won't hurt anything):

Code:
table{background:none}
#ban{display:none}
#ban_spacer{display:none}
#ban_spacer.show{display:none}

Name the file something like neoadblock.css and save it anywhere such as on your C drive (main dir). Go to Tools > Internet Options > (General tab) Accessibility > (check) Format documents using my style sheet > Browse to the file you just saved and click OK. Might need to restart the browser, but then the banner should be gone. If you are like me and also block the ads individually and per server, you might still find some ad placeholders in that spot on certain pages. In Avant (or Orca) you can right-click and Block all ads from the same server. Otherwise, you may edit your HOSTS file and list the servers manually as you encounter them (right-click on the ad space > Properties to find the server name).

This completely cleared up everything for me. :) Good luck everyone!

Worked great! Thanks

Now, it's possible that I'm the only one who does not follow directions well, but just in case I'm not, I'll throw this out: the fix wasn't working for me in Firefox because I was closing my browser window and opening a new one, but forgetting that I had another window open and minimized. Once I finally closed Firefox completely and reopened it, problem solved! :oops:

As usual, many thanks for the help! :hug:

Thanks. I was very unhappy with the big blue banner in Firefox :roll: Got it fixed in FF and IE6. :D

Merry Christmas!

From the news (1/18.):
Quote:
Site Update! - You may have noticed a loading graphic has started to briefly appear at the top of the page where the ad banner should be. We're currently testing some new code that forces the banners to load after everything else, meaning there's no more waiting before you see the page. Hoorah! The test should last for a few days, so please bear with us. :)

So it's actually from TNT to help you, not annoy you!

Writing a letter is pointless. Technically we're not supposed to block the adds. All writing a letter would do is cause them to find out how many people block images instead of buying premium.

We can block the ads, the issue is when people use the adblocking programs to block other images (such as, I believe, filtering out all items in a shop except that one elusive one to have the upper hand in restocks).
