i think it's very unfair of tnt.... not because 5k was taken, but because nothing else on the site has 'inflated'

But they're already pumping far more into the imaginary economy than they take out. The Fruit Machine, Tombola, and such are all free. You get points from games. The Stock Market is almost pure profit. REs give points or items more often than they take them away. Inflation on various items(especially Paint Brushes and hot Battledome items) is already pushing the prices sky-high. Why cheapen the value of a Neopoint any more?

I've had that RE twice...the second time was poetic as I'd just had a visit from the Golden Pteri, been showered with about 5000-ish NP, and then the blasted kadotie made off with it literally a minute later. Evil beast!

hmmm...you would think neopets would release the random event along with the challenger, but then again, the same thing has happened to many avatars which haven't been created yet. I'm sure the people who fought the Ghost Lupe 100's of times before the release of the avatar were upset, but it can't be helped i suppose, as neopets didn't really plan for such a thing to happen (avatar being won from ghost lupe that is).

They should make it an event that causes a sound to play on your computer whenever you're on neopets, until you pay to make it stop.
THEN people would feel like they were getting their money's worth.

LOL that's what I thought when I got the RE. I thought hey! I would never pay someone 5K just to take an annoying thing away! D: Hehe, in most bad REs you get your money or items stolen from you, but in this one you supposedly give it up willingly. It's funny cuz you're like no! I wouldn't do that! XD
