I keep my Bori active b/c I wouldn't mind him be baby (unless they finally release that Bori Transmog potion)

Eyrie wouldn't be too bad as baby, but I think I'm saving up for a maraquan pb for him though.

and might I add to the person who used the starter pb... :P

Us older players never have that option, kids today are spoiled :-P

I'm sorry I've just always wanted to say that.

My account is almost four years old now; I know that's not as old as many's, but it's not exactly new. I don't remember what was supposed to be in my "newbie pack" because it went poof right after I got it (the perils of crappy AOL dial-up). I had to start with no NP, no food, no toys (well, maybe I got 500np, I don't remember now). But suddenly, after I'd been playing for more than two years (and only about a week before the color-change event), I found in my inventory a non-transferrable "starter" paintbrush. I couldn't get rid of it, and I didn't know that you're supposed to report glitches. It did come in handy getting my pet back to how it had been. *shrugs*

And I'm not a kid -- I'm closer to 30 than 25 now (scary thought, that)... My nephews introduced me to Neopets, and it's a way for me to keep in touch with them.

Gold RE for Pteris, I believe.

The golden Pteri event gives you money only if your active pet is a pteri, but i don't believe there's a colour change event.

But then again I didn't know about the invisible one either.

For my two cents I think the idea of any random event that can change your active pet is idiotic. It's certainly one of the things that's kept me from investing in the apperance of my pets even though i want to and could afford to. I try to keep a lab pet as my active pet but some things, my neoquest games for instance, require my main pet to be active. I'd hate to have my acara painted royal and end up with her a sad victim of the booci ray *bleck*. I think they should give users a choice weather or not to accept the truely random changes as opposed to, perhaps the sad one. While i think the sad one is unnecessarily vindictive, and penilizes new and returning playes unfairly, I do realize the goal of it is to hurt players and thus allowing them to reject it would be counter to the purpous of the event.

Well I've never owned a Pteri so I always just assumed that's what the RE was. And I was unaware of the invisible RE as well!

I can vouch for the Golden Pteri RE. I got about 5000 NP for the event, but my pteri remained the same dull blue.

There is a solution...Considering you're "painting" your pet, wouldn't it make sense if somehow there was a way to take off the last "coat" and have the pet be the way it was before? Like going to the Rainbow Pool and paying some set amount, say 10,000 NP, and then your pet would be the colour it was pre-RE or whatever.
That way you could still have the REs, which give poorer players the chance at having popular(expensive) colours like Baby, but people who don't like the change could return their pets to their previous states.
I sent that in as a suggestion, but I doubt it will ever happen. In a perfect world, maybe, but this ain't a perfect world.

Hmmm...that's an interesting idea, I kind-of like it...

GREAT idea!!! I'm going to send them a suggestion about it.

I wouldn't really be all THAT worried over it, and going to far as to say you won't paint your pets because of there RE's is a bit paranoid isn't it?

In all my 5 years on NP I have never once gotten and colour changing RE's, never. I wouldn't mind one though. A leetle baby Bori would be very much to my liking.

Not to jinx myself, but my pet has been pretty much safe so far because I just come on to chat and stuff. Doesn't matter if it turns blue.. I haven't fed it for ages. =x

I've been playing for six years now, and I've only gotten one color changing RE the whole time, and that was the invisable RE (but I think it was the ONLY color changing RE back then.. XD; )
