Chipper, unfortunately, it's still a giveaway. And those, even with no one having to enter, buy a "donation" from a guild shop or anything else, are against the rules.

we used to have birthday packs, new member packs (for those who stayed for at least 3 weeks and posted so many times), a codestone exchange and a mini hospital for less expensive pet illnesses. All of these were paid for by those of us on council, nothing was ever asked for by members. We also had a motw and a motm. These were posted on the front page of the guild. Again, nothing was ever asked for by any of our guild members.

Our guild owner and co-owner had many emails back and forth with support on these when TNT decided to enforce the no contest/giveaway/raffle rule. They wanted clarification for all of us and they posted the emails and replies on their respective petpages for all the guild members to read, just so they'd know what was what. They were told NONE of the above was allowed ... period. This was at least a year ago.
