When I logged on to neopets today, after not being online for 2 days, I really freaked out....I've been playing for about 3 years on different accounts, and I've been hacked once before on my current account,. I had 0np I just thought god ...what am I going to do... I checked my bank account 0np.
So on a last hope I checked my items, to find I had all my NP and some items I've never seen before in a trade for Neggs.
Just wondering if this or something similar has ever happened to anyone before?...

Most likely some freaky glitch. Change your password just in case and logout of your account. Check back again tomorrow or later tonight/today.

thanks, I just changed my password before I posted.. but I'll wait a while again before playing hard-core

Maybe trade all your money and items to a different, more obscure account of yours.

Probably a good idea to check the account to see if they changed the email address. Because if they did, they could always do a lost password request and get into your account again.
And even if they didn't, it's probably a good idea to change your email's password and secret question.

thanks for that, I forgot all about the lost password request.

Sounds to me like the scammer/hacker person was in the midst of transferring your nps over to his account--maybe put the neggs there so as to not attract the attention of TNT. If so, you are really lucky to have caught it when you did.
Now you need to try to figure out how did this to you--so you can take action to ensure it doesn't happen again. A former friend, disgruntled sibling, disgruntled guild member, someone on aim/msn? Or too easy of a password/email secret question?
This just gets me so darned upset. It is just a game--yet some people think nothing of hurting innocent people to "win" at the game. Shame on them! Hopefully, what goes around comes around and they will get what they deserve sometime soon.
Or sooner or later, their conscience will eat them alive.

Just make sure you dont transfer anything by shop... It could result in a freezing... (I know from experience)

Ash, in addition to checking that the email on your account is correct, changing your neo password, the email password and if you have one the security question and answer for that password - clear out your cookies, temporary internet; sign off the internet. Run your a/v and spyware just be 100% sure.
If you used a public computer (school, library) those seem to be the places where most people get their accounts stolen. Either someone sitting nearby watching you enter passwords or not logging out or not clearing cookies (or a combination). Or it could be someone you know (scary thought).
I agree 110% with Morningstar on these people with nothing better to do with their time that cheat, scam and steal. And you were very very lucky that you did catch this - and that you were able to log in at all, that your password hadn't been changed.

It makes it look like you are transferring neopoints from one account to another to gain NP by doing things like multiple tombola... but I guess your safe if you dont do one account per person things on both of the accounts.. but you shouldnt be doing that anyway.

Thanks to all of you....I've reset my password to an even more un-guessable one than the one I had before...
I'm just happy I didn't lose anything other than a couple of dubloons
I've had my account for an age, and I've worked so very hard to get what little I have.

I noticed that you also have your msn name on your PPT lookup--if this is the email address for your account, you probably should take it off of your lookup. We have too many lurkers here on PPT--and if they know your email address, they might try to guess your password/secret question to get into your email account. That has happened to fellow PPTers before.
If you ever want to give someone your msn, you can always PM them.

wow.... I go out for a couple of days and come home to find out from the PPT message boards that my very own sister had been semi-hacked... Odd and they say that twins are supposed to be close!... Natti i'll send you a little something as a "sorry you got scammed/semi-hacked" kinda thing.

What's the account name, I'll send something over!

Agreed. One time myself and a few other PPTers recieved a scam email to our msn email address - even one person who did not play neopets.
