Yar!

Dear Adam,

Your Neopian Times submission (Adventures of a Musketeer Usul) was rejected because of the quality of the artwork. Please let your art show that you spent some time on your submission. If you take time to draw your comic, it will look much more appealing, and you will have a greater chance of being selected.

Yours Sincerely,
The Neopets Team

Dont forget to tell your friends about us - send them a greeting at http://www.neopets.com/sendgreeting.phtml.

You know.... I got my comic accepted before and I didn't really do any art.
(Well except for sticking marshmallows together.)
So why is this any different?
And does this mean if I drew it I would get it accepted?

Ah, sorry Adam.
It always feels bad to have your work rejected, even if it didnt take that much effort.
They could make the email a little less insulting...

Ah...I think I see what they mean. There isn't any of your own artwork in your comic, but cut and pasted imagery of pet poses. I think that's why the rejection....hence the part where they wrote:

They want you to draw your own images. :)

Maybe they just want you to neaten it up a bit. Since they said for comics, that you can use their images if you can't draw so good or something...

I never even got a rejection letter :(

Well, at least you didn't get the rejection letter I received...it instructed me to be more creative and not use profanity and rude language (or something to that effect). lol there was nothing rude about it, no rude words in it...I've had friends look it over to see if something could even be misconstrued but there is nothing. Very weird, lol.

Well, you're better off than me. I got fozen for something I don't even know about and the war is starting. It hurts... alot. I'm gonna try to get my account back but if I can't, its good-bye to Neopets for good...

Erm... if you had to rush to get to bed, then why did you still send it in? You can always wait a week to send it in, so you can polish it. I find myself dozens of times holding back from sending something in so that I can work on it, even if waiting one hour to fix something will ruin my chances of being published in the upcoming issue. Quality over quantity, man.

Yeah, I think it could have been nicer too.

Anyways, sorry you got rejected. :(

It's just that I can't polish it.
I can't draw any of those characters......

Thats an excuse Adam.
I've seen you draw, i've seen your art in the gallery. You could've drawn those characters, and if not, you could have easily drawn characters like them, but well enough to serve the purpose.

You should have more confidence in what you do.

I think what simsman24000 is trying to say is you should spent more time on your comic. Add some frames, add some more pictures, color the background, anything that shows that you actually spent some time on it. I'm sorry if it sounds harsh, but you won't get your comic accepted by just copy pasting a few pictures and adding some text.
