Oh my gosh!

Fri Nov 19, 2004 10:09 pm

Well, someone posted a link on snopes for a website that gives yoyu passes and screennames (so that you won't have to sign up to read a NYtime article) and I though "Hmmm...I wonder..." So I typed in neopets.com. And it gave me a pass and screenname. I had no idea this info was so easily attainable! I bet that sites one of the reasons people get hacked so much.

I know! I'm tempted to see if that account even exists.

I checked, and it is real. Abandoned, but real!

That doesn't seem right! :(

And I feel guilty for even looking. I need a shoulder to cry on!

I wanted to see this for myself, but I can't find it on snopes message boards...hopefully if it was there it was deleted? :)

I don't get that.

You go onto this site. You go to neopets.com, and a screenname and a pass comes up?!?!

You go to the site, type in neopets.com into the sites search, and the ID and pass comes up. That eerily simple.

No, its still there, if you want the sites url just PM me for it. I prefer not to post it incase some scammers are lurking around.

Read my cookies? O_O My screen name and pass wasn't the one it displayed.

Maybe they just created an account of their own to give the password to. I'd like to check it out though because that is a little scary.

:o *ish scared*

I don't understand what's so odd about it. Amneris is right, sites like these sign up for things and then post the login information for public use.

Yes, it obviously has only one username and password, so people can check it out without signing up for it. It's kind of cool.
