For Neopets ONLY discussion.

If we all picked a day on which none of us would sign on, just for the heck of it... when the day came, would we really stay off Neopets?
Are Flat-u-less tablets more efficient than laxatives?
If your pet plays too much with an Escaped Pixel, will it become a Broken Image?
Who shapes the dung furniture anyways? And what did he do to be condemned to doing it?
How do dung petpets breathe/live/eat?
What pets leave piles of dung? And why do they all look the same?
More coming if I can think of any. Feel free to add your own!

Does King Skarl have any sense of humor?
Why can pets reach godly strength so easily?
I'll think of more later.

Some of us actually did that on the Day of Action, if anyone cares to remember. It might not have made a whit of difference in Neopia, but I spent the day surfing the Net learning everything I could about Neopia--and some of the stuff reported didn't put Neopets in a favorable light.
If nothing else, it really opened my eyes that all was not sweet in Neopia--at least as far as Ralph Nader and Time Magazine were concerned.

The day of action ... well it was a good idea to start with, but it ended up in alot of mixed messages, misinformation, arguments on the boards, generally a mess.
Theoretically, what would really happen if Neo took away that topbanner thing and didn't bring those awful banner ads with the tracking cookies back? You do know they're back. I got one for callwave like 5 pages in a row! and classmates. Both have doubleclick in them:(
I don't know, when those load on a page it slows the whole page down (more than the Neo-related banner ads) and I was really hoping that they weren't coming back.

everconfused, I swear I got more cookies today than ever before. And, they really snag up my IE--either takes the page longer to load or freezes it up altogether. Today, for the first time ever, I got an ad for Eddie Bauer on the top banner. Neo is definitely using these ads to appeal to the oldsters like me--the people who actually have the money. I guess that is a back-handed compliment to us older players--they are finally acknowledging that we exist--though, along with the acknowledgement, we have to deal with the ads.
And, regarding the day of action, it was more of a personal stand for me. I knew it probably wouldn't have too much effect, but wanted to make a personal statement regardless. After all, the first Viet Nam war sit-in was only a few people in a college classroom--and look how that escalated.

the new ones, these servedby.doubleclick.com? They're really tough. I have spybot s&d, ad-aware, spywareblaster AND have that in my privacy as blocked and security as restricted. Guess what - they're still showing up in my cookies folder. Thing is, they show up as @ neopets, not doubleclick. You have to open the cookie textfile to see the AdCom with numbers, then neopets.
Oh the locking up your IE? Yep, that happened a couple times today. I've now found if I click the privacy report to see what's going on, my internet just stops dead. Have to close my internet, clear everything, then sign in again.
I'm really finding this troubling. I make it a point in general to try to stay away from sites with banner ads and tracking (or worse) cookies as part of my safer surfing policy. The other person who uses this computer is also well aware of all of this and really only uses the computer a few times a week (unlike me - I'm almost always online).

Whoa, the subject of this chatting line sure changed quite a bit. I have been having some problems with my computer as well. I am gonna scan for cookies and other icky things. I saw some interesting banners today as well :[

Where did all the royal pets buy their wigs from?
Why do we have petpetpets?
How can the lab ray actually change the *cough*gender*cough* of your pet?
Why did they make Hannah an usul? (No offense to usul lovers
)

Why do petpets drop down in battle to help out, but they don't seem to do anything?

why are the neopians years so weird? they appear to be 1 year ahead of themselves..
was just reading a discussion on that in the lenny conundrum sticky, and its very odd.

Pterii are clean and leave no dung
Pterii and Draiks seem to be the only two pets that actually seem to come from somewhere, specifically, spotted or speckled eggs from whoever their parents may have been.

Because in order for the Year Number to match the actual age of Neopia, TNT would had to have named the first year of Neopian existence Year Zero. And that sounds weird.
If you think about it, it's the same way we name our year numbers in the real world. The first year AD was called 1 AD, not 0 AD. That's why we call this the 21st century, even though we haven't reached the year 2100 yet.
