WoK question

Mon Nov 08, 2004 11:57 am

I remember reading that the wheel of k was 500 per spin because nothing bad happened there. Today my pet went down in intelligence. I may be wrong, but that sounds like something bad lol. I think they should either lower the price or take that little loss of stats off. Has anyone else gotten this?

I thought that it was 500 per spin because you can get some very good prizes, like job coupons and scrolls. All of the wheels have something bad on them, thats the whole point of a luck/chance thing that you take the risk.

I agree with most of that. I do remember someone asking why it cost so much more than the other wheels and the answer was because nothing bad happens on the wheel. I have had many many spins where nothing good happened, but today was the first time something bad happened. Was just wondering if this is a new addition or if I have just been lucky in the past.

Yep youre right! I just found the editorial where they said that:

Why did the price for the wheel of knowledge change from 100 NP to 500 NP? - Dougles_e_pugsley
The wheel doesn't have a booby prize as such and actually offers some pretty nice prizes so we had to raise the cost.

and the link for that editorial is here: http://www.neopets.com/ntimes/index_old ... l&week=154

Sigh, you guys are too lucky, I normally get some lame game code or advice from the King. I haven't gotten anything valuable before, like scrolls or job coupons. :x

like with everything else that you spin or take a chance with on neopets...you wont believe it when you win! it takes time but playing everyday will have its advantage...like 150k!! so happy!.

I think it's a rip off to be honest. The second time I played I got a scroll of greater healing and I haven't got anything since!

I've only gotten one Green coupon from the WoK in the months it has been out. Kind of sad.

Excuse me? I'd say that Hagan babbling about how it takes a good king to make a kingdom is a pretty big booby prize.

I only play the WoK if I've got 500 np burning a hole in my pocket and nothing to spend it on. Which is very very rarely.

I agree
It's okay for them to arbitrarily set the price to whatever but to lie about it like that is unnecessary and annoying.

There are negitives and booby prizes. At least with the bad prizes on WoE and WoMediority you get a few np.

So yeah as you can tell i don't find it worth it to play.
Good luck getting something good if you do though.

Exactly. And freebies like Coltzan's Shrine and the Tombola at least give you useful booby prizes. I mean, you can eat an ummagine or a box of trifle mix. What the heck are we supposed to do with Hagan's inane blathering? Or with stupid game codes that everyone already knows about? Gah, it's irritating. All the more reason NOT to visit the WoK.

Actually, you can lose all (or most) of your hitpoints from either the WoMed or WoE, catch a disease, get dropped a level in faerie abilities (not that that matters one whit, but I guess it's the principal of the thing), or have something in your inventory stolen from the WoE, and I'm not sure what all can happen to you from the WoMed. When you compare those possible outcomes to the WoK, where the worst that can happen to you is you get a useless code for your 500 nps and to your pets is they lose an intelligence point or two that can be regained through a couple different games, a random event, or by spending less than 500 nps on a book for them to read, I'd have to say I can see TNT's point. *shrugs* I think it is worth it. I've rather enjoyed the books, scrolls, windows, intelligence gains, and so on that I've gained from the wheel. But I certainly wouldn't be upset if complaints convinced TNT to lower the price of the wheel without fiddling with any of the prizes that you can get from it. :D
