Cheat Tournaments

Mon May 31, 2004 1:00 am

I've been playing Cheat obsessively while PPT was down, and I think it would be cool to have a monthly multiplayer Cheat tournament. I guess I'm pretty good at it, and the fact that so many people have the trophies is sort of annoying. Now that they have a lot of multiplayer games, I think enabling Cheat to be played between users would be a big step forward. Penny for your thoughts?

Hmm, would we still be able to play against the computer opponents as well? I'd like a choice of either. It'd be cool to play against other people. There aren't enough multi-player games. :)

Yeah, I was thinking that the current game would be kept as well as the new multiplayer addition.

Ooh yay, pwettyful and shiny! --> Image

I agree, they have too little multiplayer games. Or maybe because it takes up too much server space.

I might play, though it's been a while. And playing with real users will probably mean we wouldn't be able to catch cheaters as easily (most people know not to try to play "5 eights"). Still, as long as you can get a cool trophy...

My thoughts:

I agree... they need more multiplayer games, and i think cheat would make a great one... i also think they need to make "Neochess"... wasnt there a neochess before called neoknights or something? if so, what happened to it?

one thing that would be hard about cheat though is that its a 4 player game. its sometimes hard even to set up a two player game, but a game with 4 players would be a pain to organize..... but it would defintetely be fun! :)

That's very true. I've found that a lot of times lately, it can't find anyone else on to play the McD's game with, so I have to wait to try again later. That's only a two player game. A four player game would be harder. If the computer would fill in for however many players weren't there, that might be good. Ex. Two people and two computer opponents or 3 people and 1 computer opponent. That would be similiar to when you play Hearts on msn.com or something like that.

Great idea! I don't play chess much, but it would be fun to play it sometimes on Neopets...especially if there's a possibility of getting a trophy. I would want to be ranked so that I'd play against people around my own skill level. I won't learn anything from a Grand Master who kicks my booty in 6 moves. I don't know what happened to neoknights, but it wasn't like chess. It was sort of like Poogle Solitaire, if I remember correctly. I probably don't remember correctly, but I know it wasn't like chess. I don't recall Neopets ever having a chess game.

Yeah, it would be fun to play against other people...though I can rarely find anyone to play against me even on the current multi-player games. If they had more variety, though, maybe more people would play.

I could be wrong, but I believe NeoKnights was like Poogle Solitare, but you only had Knight pieces. It was a black and white checked board with black Knights on one side and white Knights on the other. You had to move them around the way knights move in chess and capture pieces to take them off the board.

I used to play it a lot, but I can barely remember it now. It's been years. ;) lol

I'd love to play poker like that.

My memory is quite faulty, but I don't think you would capture the pieces. It wasn't a two-player game really, not even against the computer...so it wouldn't make sense to play both sides and try not to capture your own pieces. Didn't you just have to make the black and white pieces switch sides in as few moves as possible?

It was just the Neopets version of Checkers ;)

That must have been quite some time ago... The name barely registers, but I don't think I ever played it.

Now that I think about it, I DO remember when it was in the game room, though. Maybe it'll be in the game graveyard some day?

I agree, they need more multiplayer games. I don't really play any of the ones, but I do play Cheat! quite reguarlly, and I'd love to see it made into a multiplayer game.

That said, it'd be hard to set up - maybe when you created a game you could specify how many opponents you wanted to wait for, 1, 2, or 3. Then the computer could just fill in for the other players.

yeah, liek 4 players in a round! that would be cool
