Still Frozen..Thanks

Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:33 am

My username nascar__fan on Neopets was frozen. Today I got a reply saying it won't be back (but I'm not giving up).

This is what I replied back with:

I hope you had a very Happy Halloween and Have a Very Merry Winter Holiday Season

I understand your concern about safety and I appreciate it, but I am also paranoid about safety as well with my own computer. Every time before I shut down my computer I take the time to delete temporary files (indlucing offline content), cookies, and internet histroy). Then I put my software firewall secrity level to tight before I shut down my computer.

About 2-3+ months ago I had a couple accounts that I got an email back were removed from your servers. I had them removed because they gave away way too much personal information. I gave the pets in those account(s) to the pound and the items/neopoints to the Mondey Tree and never even made any attempt to get those items/pets on the nascar__fan account.

But, I am sorry, you are wrong, I did not use any programs to cheat on any of the flash games. It goes strictly against my moral value code.

Since I use broadband internet. My computer has a single IP address (it may have changed when I went from my old Windows98SE computer to my current computer with Windows XP with SP 2 installed). I work in a Grocery Store as a Demo Worker (giving out free food samples). When it gets slower I take the time to clean out the onion peels and straighten the banana display. I am also a local lay speaker at my church.

You may have heard that in my area that the internet was suppossed to be down throught out the weekend due to a main fiber optic line getting cut in Green Bay. But some how my ISP must have found an alternate route.

Thanks for your time and help. I appreciate it.

I am beginning to wonder if my two accounts that were suppossedly removed from the Neopets Servers weren't "really" removed?

Good luck getting them back, I am currently trying to get mine back aswell.

Thanks

I wish I remember my old neohome address for the old account of mine that I used to use as my main. All I remember is that it was one of the street names that start with the letter M in Neopia Central.

If I could remember that I can see if it was really removed from the Neopets servers or if there email was not the full truth.

I am hoping by saying Happy holidays first, that it might help.

I dont really know what else to suggest, it seems as though you have tried everything. I wish you the best of luck with getting your account back though, maybe if you bug them enough then they will give it back to shut you up!! ;)

Fingers crossed for you!

I'm not sure why you feel the need to tell them about yr job in a grocery store etc? I don't see how this will helpyou get your account back. perhaps you should try to show evidence that you're innocent when you email them, I'm sure this would be more effective.

Good luck to both of both of you in getting your accounts back. I hope you both get them back and get them back soon. All I can say is keep on being polite and persistant (without getting annoying).

http://www.neopets.com/neohome.phtml?owner=username

Neohome adress :)

Try it and see, also you could check your stamp album and Neodeck to see...

http://www.neopets.com/games/neodeck.ph ... type=cards

http://www.neopets.com/stamps.phtml?owner=username

Try each one to see if they were really removed.

You could also try creating an account with the username that was supposed to be deleted, if it has been deleted then it would allow someone else to use that name.

Those 2 other accounts are still in their database..

Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:49 am

Even though the email I got told me they had removed my usernames from their system.

Of course I don't still have those emails (they got deleted when my ISP swtiched email styels).

Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:58 am

The Neohome thing doesn't work... I tried it on an account of mine I deleted. It still showed the Neohome.

What did work, however, was trying to log into that account. AFter I typed in the pass and security code, it came up wth a message. This was about a month ago, I'll go look it up again, and take a screenie of it (I'll only take a screenie of it if you want me to, though... I'd rather not.)

Tue Nov 02, 2004 12:58 am

Can you show us the email they sent saying you wouldn't get your account back?

Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:00 am

I would write again then, asking why they havent been removed as you have asked them in writing to remove them. And ask them for confirmation that this has been done, and this time print the email out and hold on to it as further proof incase you need it in the future.

Wow, best of luck on getting your account back!

Now, I saw you mentioned Green Bay. I live in Green Bay.

Where do you live? :>

I think that it helps quite a bit in showing Neo that you are a real person--someone with values and morals--a decent human being, etc.--and not some low-life punk who is scamming/cheating every chance they get.

Both my husband and I used the same strategy in our emails to Neo when his account and my daughter's account got wrongfully frozen--his for allegedly cheating at flash games, hers for allegedly scamming when she gave away presents on the help chat at Christmastime. We gave names, addresses, occupations, phone numbers, employers, educational background--anything we could to show Neo that we had nothing to hide and that we were not just faceless accounts, but actual people--who didn't cheat in real life and wouldn't cheat in virtual life.

Both accounts were deiced in days. And, I honestly believe that much of it was due to the fact that we showed Neo that we were believable people.

I don't live in any major city..

Tue Nov 02, 2004 1:15 am

And I think since Neopets is in California they don't believe my area has Broadband internet. My ISP does route through major cities though.

I am in a fairly rural area.

This is the email I got:

Thanks for your inquiry. Your account has been frozen for cheating.
This is strictly against the terms and conditions that you agreed upon
when you created your account. You can review our terms and policies
here: http://www.neopets.com/terms.phtml and here:
http://www.neopets.com/chatrules.phtml. Because you have violated our
terms and conditions we cannot return your account, Neopets, items or
anything else contained within that account.

If you have any other questions, don't forget to include the entire
text of this e-mail with your username clearly at the top. This will help
me better address your situation.
