What am I doing wrong? .GIF not allowed in shops now?

I was just adding a little to my gallery, and suddenly as I tried to attach a smilie I got a message saying "you can only embed blah blah blah files (and .gif was on the list) but not this file, which is a .gif.

Well, something like that. Here's what the screen said, I really can't describe it very well.






Am I missing something here? I've read it several times but I can't figure out what I am doing "wrong".

Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just tried uploading on my own webspace, and sure enough....BINGO! That was it...

Thanks CrewWolf. I feel stupid now for asking, but you solved the mystery for me.
