I think they're making some of the faeries out to be this "girls toy" look.
I prefer her the way she was/is now, unlike this Good Heroes book. She just...looks better! Matches the whole Island thing alot more when you have a darker-skinned person as one of the main characters...
Agree? Disagree?

Oh, I agree very much. I liked that Jhuidah was one of the faeries that was not very thin and pale with a tiny snub nose. I like the artwork on TNT, but Jhuidah was always so cool because she was a little different.
I like variety. Plus, like The Slime Lord mentioned - she really matched the Island theme!
The picture of her in the Gallery of Heroes is definitely strange. Not only does she look quite different from what I picture as Jhuidah, she also has a very long neck and really really big ears. I wonder if it's on purpose?

Well, it's rather odd she has a very small waist with a very *cough* largetop..
The ears I don't mind so much, it's the...certain apeall like one Britney Spears has. (I don't know if I could say our favorite three letter word).
This is what I'm NOT liking with TNT. They're making everything so much different from what it was set out and meant tobe.

What was everything set out and meant to be?
It is all decided by TNT, if you ask me.

Well, it's like they set out to do A, but B has more money.
A) Neopets was more centered. There was more activies. We had to get totems in order to go places. Sign up for sponsors to get coupons and battledome oponinents.
B) More money! Go out of everything!
That is the simplist way. But the talk is about Jhudiah!

I think she looks awesome. Somewhat elvish. The long neck is reminiscent of tribal cultures that elongate the neck with circular hoops such as those.
I think Neopets idea was to make her look less cartoonish than her pot stander-by counterpart and more like an
action figure - she is a hero afterall.

I think he meant that they set out to make a fun site, and there have been revamps that did make them more, um, appealing in a non-kid-friendly way. They really don't need to be showing skin, and stuff, why not full-length dresses for all the faeries? I think the best example of this would be the Fire Faerie from the Mystery Island Mystery, she didn't have to be so provacative. And if I'm pointing this out, then it's pretty freakin obvious >.< And I'm still waiting for guys who aren't like huge monsters and stuff *glares, um somewhere glaringly*

I love the hypocrisy on neopets though, why aren't there any male faeries? Oh wait, males can't be FAERIES its just not done.
And I don't understand why all the faeries need be so scantily clad.

Now normally I don't care if they make their faeries thin or whatever because they are their characters and that are cartoons and all of that, and I like Jhuidah's picture in the gallery of heroes except that her waist is ridiculously small. And the only reason that bothers me is because at one time her waist was not ridiculously small and I liked her that way. I think the picture is beautifully drawn, and everything else is great, but I don't like her waist.

Neopian times wrote:Recently Jhuidah had a makeover and this brought to my attention how the faeries are looking skinnier and more Barbie like with each revamp. I mean, for a children's site that censors the younger users from certain content, why are you holding up this image that beautiful things must be skinny and wearing slinky clothing that isn't exactly covering the most of their bodies?
Although I understand that if you ever got a line of dolls for your merchandising, it would be nice to have the 'Perfect Barbie figure' but still, what do you think this image will do to your users? Many young girls already have this image of to be beautiful you have to be skinny driven into their heads and Jhuidah had been a bit more plump but beautiful in her own way. Now, with this new revamp she's skinnier in this 'Barbie-like image', as if saying that skinny is better than what she was before. - Thefluffiestone
I agree with you here. It was not an intentional point to make Jhuidah skinny. That is just the way one artist drew her. She was always more fuller figured than some of our faeries and I think it is a good thing. The various Faeries should look different rather than have one set body type/shape/size.
Well there you have it just before the new one came out.
Well You might as well know that when they grey faerie was released there were "love threads about her."

i remember in the editorial in one of the past neopian times, someone had made a comment about how they appreciated jhuidah's more natural curvy look, and whoever answered said they agreed and wouldn't want her to be a thin twig. what made them change their minds?

I fail to see the difference :S

The small stomach makes it look like her upper area is to muscular..
I do wish the Faeries wore more clothing myself.. some are a little
too skimpy for my taste. But.. atleast we have good old Taelia.

You know, this is going to sound odd, but I wish they had a bigger person as a faerie. Not a big old cook, or a grandma, but a larger woman as a nice beautiful faerie. It's not fair at all to see that Neopets is still embrasing the "Woman are only beautiful when skinny" stereotype.
...but then again I'm just being picky and mean.
