Neopian Times Submission Question.

Got this one in my neomail just now...

Dear ValerieLundberg,

Your Neopian Times submission (Confessions of a Hungry Kadoatie) was rejected because we had too many good entries in this category this week and there wasn''t enough room for them all. Please try again next week.

Anyone know when the NT starts their "new round" of submissions? I'd like to resubmit it and was wondering which day would be best?

Try submitting it for next week, thats when they start the next round, I believe, good luck getting you commic submited, you'll need it. :evil:

It's not a comic, but a short story this time.

I've been published once before, and that was also after resubmitting it. (They plain out rejected *that one* the first time saying it wasn't original, LOL.) I resubmitted and it was in the next time.

Just keep trying to enter it in, it will eventually work, most likely. Good luck getting your comic in, theres a lot of competition out there, so you'll need to submit yours as soon as possible after the newest one is out.

Bleh, I've had that same rejection message twice this fornight, darn that NT Star avatar! It's made everyone contribute :/

Not really, because you have to get 10 wins for the avatar, an ordinary person would'nt want to go through all the hassles for ONE avatar I don't think.... Getting in once is hard enough, let alone 10 times:/ It's only for the very dedicated people

Also, try submitting before Tuesday of every week, and your chance of getting in should be much higher

I've submitted stuff before and had rejections and an acceptance but it's only since the NT av came out that i've had rejections because there were too many good entries :/

I've submitted quite a few times, and got the same deal as you. Except for a different name of course... Lets both keep trying, eh? And I don't really care about the avvy, I just want my story to get in...

I reckon they should increase the number of articles and comics and stuff in every NT now that they've made the av - I can't see what harm it would do and it would make it easier for those people not just looking for avatars to get their work published.

I agree with that. As the amount of players on Neopets grows, they should expand the submission amounts for things with a set limit.

No series here.

I just write what comes to mind, and spend a big amount of time on that one article/story.

I don't want to have to be tied down to a series, (that's just me) so you are home safe.

I could care less about the avvy too. It would be nice, but honestly, after I got the avatar collector avatar I sort of retired from hardcore collecting.

As usual, I just want my hard work (and what I think is a nice creative story) read by someone other than me for a change.

I used to submit a newly written article every week. After I had about five stories, I submitted one at a time. I finally got tired of that and submitted all five every week. Second week of this got me published. Will continue submitting the other four, and may add one soon.

I submit as soon as I am rejected. I edit or revamp any that does not say ... "was rejected because we had too many good entries in this category this week". They seem to run all the submissions through an auto checker. I had a story that had the word scam in it (not related to any neopet scam subject) and got it bumped. I changed the word to cheat. I then got a standard 'happy rejection' letter.

I guess I was spoiled. My first submission on my first account was accepted the first time!

what do you get if your article or comic or whatever gets in, is it just a trophy or is there more??

I believe that you get a trophy on your lookup, and once you've been accepted 10 times, you also get an avatar.

Yup, what Alex said, just a trophy...and 10 of them will get you the NT star avatar. It's not like caption contest or art gallery, etc where you get a sweet prize to go with it.
