Your Neopian Times submission (Nothing but the Truth) was rejected because we had too many good entries in this category this week and there wasn''t enough room for them all. Please try again next week.

Yours Sincerely,
The Neopets Team

Does this mean they sort of liked it but there actually wasn't enough room, or does everybody get this message regardless of the quality of their comic?

sounds like there was nothing wrong with it, so keep sending it in!!:D

I think that they send that out to anyone who didn't get accepted... but keep trying! :)

Nope -- there are different responses. Sometimes the joke is not funny, sometimes the art is poor, sometimes the comic breaks certain rules -- that's a good response, Naniwai! Send it in again next week!

That's good, then. :) I've resubmitted it.

Yep, there's different ones. Here's a neomail that was posted to a Neopian community:

Your Neopian Times submission (Neopian Paradox: Gormet Enigma) was rejected because the editor did not understand your joke. Try to understand the basics of setting up a joke. That is to say, begin with a premise, provide statements that build upon the premise, and then finish off with a punchline that is consistent with the premise of your joke. Please try not to use any coarse, rude, or insulting language which others might find offensive.

At least they took the time to explain why the user's comic was not chosen and even patiently elaborated on the fundamentals of crafting a good joke. :P

"provide statements that build upon the premise" - clearly that's where my Knock Knock jokes have been going wrong! Anyway, back on topic, well done Naniwai, good luck for next time :)

Well, I've gotten it again, and I'm resubmitting.
