Lenny Conundrum #84

Fri Sep 17, 2004 1:57 am

Dr. Sloth protects his computer system from those pesky Grundos by incorporating a secret code that only he knows how to work out. Two numbers appear on his screen, and he can't log in until he types in a third number, related to the first two.

However, certain Grundo spies kept an eye on him as he entered the secret code several times. For instance, when 1 and 2 appeared on the screen, he typed in 9 to log in. When 3 and 4 appeared, he typed in 20. When 5 and 6 appeared, he typed in 12.

Finally, when it was safe to do so, a Grundo spy broke in and started up the computer. The numbers 17 and 12 appeared on the screen.

What number should the Grundo spy type in to gain access to Dr. Sloth's computer?

OHHHH!!! Now I get it. *submits and hopes he was fast enough to actually win something for once*

Fri Sep 17, 2004 2:26 am

i still don't get it?
one+two=nine
three+four=twenty
five+six=twelve.. huh?

well what i noticed when i typed it up was 1, 3, and 5 are odds.. 2, 4, and 6 are evens.. 9, 20 and 12 though? O.o

edit again:
seventeen+twelve=? (i just added it in case it made more sense)

Odd and even isn't important -- don't worry about it

ok do u assign a numerical value for each letter of one, two, nine, etc? i don't see anything in the spelling :(

Fri Sep 17, 2004 2:31 am

Oh. My. Gosh. I just realized that I was so excited that I did the math wrong. Oh. My. Gosh. I had it too. Wow. That is sickening. I cannot believe I did that.

Edit: Wow. *is still in shock that he messed it up* How stupid can a person get?
