Send Challenge

Tue Aug 24, 2004 9:15 pm

The games now have a "send challenge" button where you can send challenges to other people.

Select a Neofriend you would like to challenge, or enter their username into the text box.

Once you hit 'Send!' below, an event will be sent to your opponent. If they accept your challenge, an event will be sent to you. The next score you submit for that game will then go towards all accepted challenges. If your opponent declines your challenge, you will be notified and your challenge with them will be cancelled.

Hmm, interesting...
But I can't imagine alot of people actually doing it.

I'm sure a lot of the avid battledomers will use it, I know I have a couple of friends who like to fight amongst themselves...that will cut down on the trouble :)

I think that's pretty nifty

I tried this earlier today with Messs17. It was exciting at first because I was expecting something cool to happen or to get some kind of something at the end. Nothing really happens, though. YOu both play the game and send scores. The the person with the highest score "wins". They get a point in their challenge points. That's it.

There's also a challenge of the day game where your score shows up with other people's, I believe. It was Advert Attack, so I didn't do it.

Comparing scores against a friend is fun, but this really isn't anything extraordinary. It kind of reminds me of the Battle League tournaments that used to be held in the battledome.

...Unless TNT makes an avatar for it in which you have to beat a certain number of people to get it
Anyway, sounds interesting.

I thought of that too :P
But then people would challenge their second accounts, and win

Oh, but you see... it would be that both people had to beat a certain score...

That is a pretty cool idea! Must have been hard to program, but i like it!

However, thats not what we need right now.... I write for the neopian times AND ive been in the art gallery and some other things... so, I get neomailed CONSTANTLY... and then I get neofriend requests... then people challenging my WEAK neopets.... even though i dont take challenges... and now I will have people sending me challenges... eerrrg....

This explains the odd glitch the other weekend where it said You have already played your three games for the day and don't have any challenges . . . they were adding the code for this, and forgot to carry the 1 (or some such).

Yeah, I saw this earlier today... it's a great idea in theory... but I'm not sure how many "challenges" will sit and rot in peoples' inboxes...

That sounds pretty neat actually. I think they should develop some flash games where you actually do play agaisn't another computer online. That'd be wicked!

...And that's why I block all challenges/neofriend requests/etc. I might leave these open though, I can probably beat most people at most games (thus meaning they'd know better if they look at my scores).
