Okay, this is a problem that's been happening for me for a while, but it's never really bothered me until now.
I know for a fact that I have Shockwave on my computer. I sat through the entire installation process, which took an insufferably long period of time, and I regularly play a variety of online games which use it.
Anywho... the other day, I went to test out Dice Escape to see what it was like. The game went through the entire loading process, but when it got to the end, instead of starting the game, I got a dgs error.
(There was a little more to the message, but I can't remember it off the top of my head...)
Anyway, I've had this message before - with both HatPC and Gourmet Club Bowls - and haven't done anything about it. But I realised finally, that not fixing the problem will likely rob me of game playing opportunities in the future.
So, I thought I'd ask for help.
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have you managed to fix it and how?
Also, should I report this to TNT?
Any help, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated.

Over the past few weeks, neopets has been initiating a barrage of errors and glitches across the entire site, in order to mask 'particular account discrimination' as 'site wide unintentional anomalies'.

Elurial,
I don't know when you d/l the Shockwave, but there is an update...it's now 10.01 something. Be warned - when you go to d/l the update, Macromedia very sneakily (is that a word?) adds in a d/l for yahoo toolbar. Talk about annoying - my spyware and ISP both went insane! Yes, they got a nasty email from me.
I think? I removed all the toolbar stuff, but I really need to uninstall the last Shockwave, then d/l the Stand Alone update and install manually. Just not up for that right now. Dial up and downloads, a bad combination.
You can check what version of Shockwave and Flash you have on the Macromedia site.

Neobuks, this is a very interesting statement. Could you elaborate on it a bit? What do you mean exactly by "particular account discrimination"? And what leads you to believe that this is what's happening with the site lately?

Well in actuality I can only speak for myself. My account has been 'harassed' for more than the past 2 years and is now frozen to boot. ( check my PPT profile link to my web site for details ) Also I have seen many others complain on and off neopets.com about being treated unfairly where others were not.
An actual example would be, the 'send score lag' I complain about on my site. I go into great detail, so as to 'prove' my point, about how they were thwarting my efforts. Now, all of a sudden they have a global 'send score glitch' only several days after I post my article.
Get it?
There is plenty of other cases. Some I am aware of others I am not.
I am certian these fan sites are heavily monitored by neopets. They even emerge publicly from time to time.
neopets is big money and being fair is not. (so they think) This leaves frozen users like me, banging our heads on our keyboards and opening anti-neopets web sites.
Here is another current instance. I have 2 new neopets accounts. One is male (borotruck) one is female (silly_fun_girl). Both were opened on the 6th. Both are age 17. The female account had no limit to the amount of Cellblock games and NP per day. The male account is limited to 5000 NP per day.
I know it's called a 'glitch' on the female account and I know, on the surface, it's not a big deal. But why would this happen on one account and not on the other?

neobuks, I honestly can't figure out what a problem with shockwave has to do with being treated unfairly or "particular account discrimination".
As far as your site and your now current situation, if you have 2 accounts and are using both of them to play games -- which is against the rules and was actually clarified in the News, then you are cheating. Why there was a glitch that allowed one of the accounts to play unlimited I don't know - but if there was such a glitch did you report it or did you keep on playing "unlimited". If you're not going to try to follow the (known) rules, then your site, reasoning and complaints are not going to get you much sympathy.
Elurial, were you able to get your Shockwave problem fixed?

No, not as yet. I thought I might wait until after they fix the Dice Escape problem... then I'll give it another try, and see how I go.
If that doesn't work, I might try emailing the support staff.

Granted. I did not address the problem directly. I will try harder to be more specific in the future. For me, unlike yourself, the problem is real. You have not experienced it first hand as I have. You dwell on the fact that I'm using 2 accounts and that it makes me a cheater. However, I give PPT members credit that they have the ability to figure out, that when I had my good account, I did not cheat. As well as figuring that the accounts I spoke of now, are for testing and promoting my anti-neopets web site. Not for cheating. It doesn't matter if they freeze them. I will just make some more.
I didn't report it because I'm not done testing and would like to see others experience some of the truths I put forth.
Mabey you can tell us why this would happen to one account and not another.
