Thanks to that pernickety Pachyderm, I've been barred from the chemist...
How long will it last? Is it like the RS ban of 24 hours? (which is overkill, I believe... and unfair.) Or is it just an hour or so?

It depends. It can be a day, or a week until it's off.

You mean what happens when you haggle too much? One time, I really wanted to get a Shopkeeper mad, just for fun, and typed in 1NP each time. I was barred for a whole week!

They're a standard 24 hours now. It's a lot better than the old system. ^_^

Is it every 24 hours it's reset and everyone is unbanned?
Or is it you will be unbanned 24 hours after you were banned?

24 hours from the time you were banned.
It definitely is better than the old system. They unbanned everyone at once, and you could be banned for a week before they unbanned you.

i think there is a trick to it.. i found this out long ago. after you are banned, just click on any other items sold in the shop or any other shop. type in any price but DONT buy. click back to shop and you can buy the item again. you are unbarred (or whatever you called that).
i found this out incidentally. try at your own risk *looks like i should add this after reading the two posts below

I'm not so sure that subverting a shop ban is a very good idea. O_o
