Thanks for the link, Daze! I couldn't find it in the news or main page, and a google search led to two prior DDs. JS needs to be better about maintaining link consistency from year to year.
And wow, they actually picked a word game for once. I love them, but it's not very fair to non-native English speakers (which is why they've avoided them in the past). I think in the past, non-U.S. users had a different game.
I'm a little scared of some of these games. It depends on the score, but Zurroball in particular could be nasty. Meerca Chase II can be frustrating. And Caves and Corridors wouldn't load at all for me on my new laptop when it was the BTY game a couple of weeks ago. This could be dicy....
And ugh for day 1. My high score is only 6575. Well, challenging AAA anyway. Hopefully we have a day and a half? Not counting on it...
Edit: 4165 first try. Ugh. I experienced significant lag, which caused several lost lives. And my new mouse is a piece of crap; it's always been jumpy and just not very responsive. I'll try again this evening, after restarting and cleaning up my laptop a bit (I've got a huge Google doc open... probably not very helpful). I might bring out my old mouse (which worked fine when it actually worked - its USB port was just faulty, so the computer struggled to read it). Without the lag and the mouse issues, I know I can get 7800 no problem.
Daily Dare *and* Faerie quests at the same time? Wow.
ICM. This used to be one of my World Challenge games. I love it. Well...I'm definitely out of practice, but made it on my first try. I'm kinda not happy with my score, actually, but it'll do.
8510. Phew. I was able to get my old mouse to work, thank goodness, and the lag had subsided a bit (after the third game). And I managed to get... I'm not sure how many extra lives, but I had nine going into the strawberry-swirl round, and I got another two or three after that. I started the last round at 7760 with four lives left, and I forced myself to just stay calm and get some scoops to the top.
Woot, beat AAA with a score of 8,680. New high score for me. It definitely took me a while to achieve that score. The luck of extra lives really makes a difference. Happy to be done for day 1 (and a half).
Congrats everyone!! We are all off to a great start. Although I do have the avatar, that was done on an older slower computer, but I managed to get the score on my 3rd attempt.
Here's the game list again, with links to all the games and JN's game guides, in case anyone wants a quick link to them. Daze, feel free to copy this to the first post if you want to.

I apologize if there's any goofs on those, I got a little cross-eyed looking at things. It's possible some of the games that have never been in DD before have been in GMC, but since I just spent way too much looking those all up...yeah. Not going through them right now.

Amazing charts Pickles!! I have updated the first post.
It is a team challenge so remember to choose the team challenge link before selecting your challenger.
I enjoyed Word Pyramid today. It was one of my favourite games when I first played the site. I chose AAA and had no probs getting the score needed. I sent the challenge to my daughter who actually got a better score than me. LOL. It's funny, because she never did like word games.
Back in the day, I actually had a chart of every game ever used, for the first 4 years...so I just yoinked the information off that, and then went through the other 5 years to add to it. If I thought I had that kind of time again, I'd go back and update it with all 9 years, but it took me long enough to go through and just do the games for this year, so I don't see that happening anytime soon.
I challenged Mr. P (as I usually do). Seeing as he's usually better at word games than me, I'm not too worried. I actually beat my previous high score by 200 points, woot!
Not worried about tomorrow's too much. I double checked to make sure I've already got the bat unlocked (although why I wouldn't have, I'm not sure, but...better to check), and I do, so it should be a no-brainer. Sunday's should be okay, too.
Thanks for all the info, Pickles. I double-checked earlier and was able to get Caves and Corridors to load. Not sure why it glitched the other day, so I'm just crossing my fingers it works on the day of. I might try to unlock more levels in case the score is ridiculous.
Edit: thanks for the reminder for tomorrow's. I hadn't actually unlocked the bat on my new laptop yet, but it's done now.
Thanks for accepting the challenge, Siniri. Today was challenging - mostly because due to travel and flight delays. I was unexpectedly stuck in Houston for a while. Ironically, I paid extra today to change my flight to an earlier flight to (1) get home earlier and (2) to have a more comfortable layover than 48 minutes in my original itinerary... only to be delayed an hour or so in Houston and ultimately arrive home a mere 30 minutes sooner than if I had not changed flights. *sigh* ah well. I am home! Not going for a high score, or to even beat Siniri's score. AAA beat? Yep *checks box*. Challenge done before midnight NST? Yep *checks box*. boxes checked? Yep. Done!
Kass Basher is a double dare game. Easy Peasy. Although I didn't already have the bat unlocked (regular clearing of site cache clears it) so had to go through that first.
