Is this the mysterious Project X from Daily Dare?
A blank game page at the moment, but it is a good sign.

Interesting... Very interesting. Thanks for the find, Daze!

Looks like we'll be seeing it sooner than later now....check out
this from JN!
....Yo-yos. Seriously?

Those graphics... That game concept... Just... Why am I even still here?

I'm actually amused by the yo-yos. The graphics are a little different than I'd expect, but, I'm willing to reserve judgement until the game comes out. At least it's something new!

It'll be interesting to see what platform the game uses. Is it another Flash game? Will there be an actual "event" around it, or just the game? (There'd better not be an event until TNT gets its act together on other issues first...)
Will there be a monetary component? (Buy extra yo-yos with NC? Buy power-ups?) This is JS's first game since taking over (besides Ghoul Catchers), correct?

Well the game has been released. It is just a game. No fanfare or anything dramatic, just a little blurb in the news. There is no NC component.
The game definitely shouts out a different company has taken over, and one that is steering towards mobile device users.
It is the first game to be written in HTML5.

Wow. Were the directions written by a non-native English speaker? The game opens in a new tab (annoying) and doesn't display the typical point/NP ratio. And I get an error, which I can ignore or reload (latest version of Chrome on Win10). The protection power-up doesn't work (it was the only one I've tried so far). The intro/playing/score-sending contains an awkward mix of switching between clicking and using keyboard controls (an annoying issue shared by several other Neopets games), and the movement is not very intuitive. The freezing power-up does work.
FYI, the ratio is 5 points/NP.
After two plays, my rating is a 3/10.
ETA: The shield power-up is actually an extra guard. Hitting it automatically costs you a yo-yo -- not that it's remotely clear from the instructions.
After 7 plays, trying to get more than 100 NP (again), I give it a 0.5/10. Wowzers.

Wow is that an awful game. After 2 plays, I have 5 points each. Not sure how much I will ever play this again.

Seems there is an avatar for this game, although the requirements are not known (or it is glitched, as you get this message when sending certain scores:
Error: You do not have this avatar or it does not exist, so we cannot display it. Nice try though).

Thanks Daze
But... Ugh. This means I will need to play the game again (once it is determined how to get the avatar).

Avatar score required: 1000 points.
Gonna be a while before I get this one!

1,000 points? That's a loooooong way from my top score of 5.
Thu Sep 29, 2016 1:48 am
My high score is in the 60s. And even getting that tests my patience with the game. 1000 is ridiculous; I think it would take longer than just about any other game avvie in terms of the time spent playing the winning game (even counting the time spent practicing). Blargh. It might even be longer than Meepits Juice Break on zen mode (which was excruciating).
