Abigail: Whaaaaa? Have you finally decided to return to civilization?

AAA: I'll be traveling in a few days. I need some supplies.

Abigail: TRAVELING?! After locking yourself up in your room for 2 years? What's going on?

Abigail: That’s it! Ever since AAA started working on his stupid, top secret Project X, he’s not been himself! He’s been moody, irritable and depressed.. He even skipped Daily Dare for two years straight! And that’s not even counting the year he FORGOT about it and went to summer camp. I don’t care what he says, I think a revival of his all-time favorite competition is JUST what he needs! I better go and pack my clothes.

Very interesting... I really didn't think we'd have another DD. I'm pretty rusty on my Neopets gaming skills.

I recently used up my AC Cup points, not wanting a repeat of last year (just before I moved). I had a link to other plot shops still open and was planning to spend all my points everywhere, but of course I've long since forgotten what shops I still have things in. Guess it's time to go finish that up. I don't remember if the DD shop is open, but I think I would have collected that one right away along with the AC one (I do remember checking the staff tourney one...).

Anyway, if I find the link and it's still open, I'll share it here so you guys can check yours.

I was wondering if this was the "old favorite" that was mentioned in an editorial before the Negg Festival started. I'm kinda looking forward to it, especially now that it appears it'll be happening much more immediately - "in a few days" - (that is, April, instead of May), and I can actually look forward to having a chance at participating fully. Had they held off to start until May, well...that would've made for an entirely different question.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually missed Daily Dare! I'm afraid I cant say the same for my brother, who spent the last two years obsessing over his stupid project. Hopefully a few weeks of non-stop games and challenges will bring him back to his old self. I suggest you read the FAQ before you begin, so you know what to expect.

Daily Dare will run for 20½ days, starting on Tuesday, April 12th at site sync and running through Monday, May 2nd at 11:59:59 PM NST. (NST is equal to U.S. Pacific Time.)

There are four trophy levels this year for Daily Dare:

The Double Dare Challenges will occur once or twice a week throughout the entire Daily Dare event. You'll just have to keep an eye out to discover the exact days!

Daily Dare includes three Team Challenges. Each Team Challenge will run from Friday through Sunday. The first Team Challenge will begin Friday, April 15th, 2016, at 12:00 AM NST and last until Sunday night, April 17th at 11:59 PM NST. (NST is equal to U.S. Pacific Time.)

So...pretty much the same standard DD we had the last couple years we had them.

I'm super glad it's going to be over at the beginning of May! And I'm actually pretty excited to have one again! GMC just isn't the same...

Challenged AAA and got the score easily.

Ditto on challenging AAA/beating his score. Took some time to get the score (and I won once early on by mistake), but it's pretty doable. Just remember your wild card if you think you might lose!

Yay, finished. There is a daily day and date prize (weird name... why not "same day" or "same date"?).

I find it easiest to let Zenco get most of the cards at the beginning, get 3 5-card bonuses in a row, then let him get most of them again, etc. (Obviously someone will sometimes lose when you don't want them to... I try to get as many 5-card bonuses as I can without Zenco running out of cards -- just keep an eye on ties, especially, and give yourself 2-4 cards to lose with.)

I'm glad they're continuing the "day of" or "date" prizes, or whatever you want to call them, as they give *something* for finishing the day of, vs having a higher trophy for completing all AAA's on the original day.

As expected, day 1 was 1 1/2 days, so nothing new today, although there is some more new dialogue.

The Daily Puzzle today is also tied to the game, which I find pretty cool. The map redraw is pretty neat, too - I like the simplicity of it. They could have easily reused all of the last DD's graphics, and while they might have reused some (which has been done before, IIRC), they obviously didn't choose to reuse everything. The dialogue has been a step up from what I remember it being, and I'm going to admit, I've been enjoying it, especially with Abigail being so sneaky.

Side note: I think Jumpstart is on the right track to bringing things back to where they were (if a bit slowly at first) and then some. They ran the Faerie Festival, Negg Festival, and now Daily Dare almost back to back. I don't remember the old TNT linking the daily puzzle to whatever event we might be on. I also don't remember any of the daily dialogue being more than a couple lines, either. Having a mystery premise of "Project X" makes it a little bit more interesting, too. Yes, last time we had Chadley...but having a mystery vs. having Chadley....yeah. I'll take the mystery any day. Even if it turns out to be something totally inane.

Thanks for the heads up that this event has started! I foolishly chose AAA last night, based on my high score of ~38k and AAA's 25k... It has apparently been a long time since I played this and will need the 1-1/2 day first day to beat AAA... I whipped through the first game and ran Zenco out of cards and said, "wha?". Then I remembered (just like Siniri said above) that you need to let him win back cards to get a decent score. Ah well. I'll get it done later today.

ETA: Finally had a few minutes (maybe more) to play Dueling Decks. Didn't beat my high score, but good enough to beat AAA. Beat AAA on first day, Hooray!
