Don't even if this was mentioned yet, but Neopets has partnered up with another site. I hope this means that our flash games will improve. :)

Hah.. I love this one.

Our newest partner, Oberon Media, is offering Neopians a free trial of their paid games.
So go ahead and play them - we are!

Yeah. Right.. Does this mean that some of the Neopets games are going to be pay-to-play? Or is this just another sign of the commercialism of Neopets? Or Both?

I HOPE the games don't become pay to play - that will put the nail in the coffin for me. The games are pretty much the only reason I play there now.

I think they're just going to put some game demos on the site, which might give out np like sponsor games, in hopes of encouraging people to buy the game.

I don't really mind Neopian commercialism, because it doesn't affect me; I just ignore the advertisements. But I can see how it would be annoying for parents with young children who want to buy things because they saw them on Neopets, or because they will get rare items, etc as a reward for buying Neopets merchandise.

I can see that being a reasonable alternative. Just as long as they don't go the other way and turn all the games at neopets into pay to play.

Hopefully, it will be like zone.com where you get the option of either playing a free version of the game or trying out and then buying the "deluxe" version of the game.
