Snow Faerie Quests

Those of you who do snow faerie quests, how much do you limit your spending to on them?

Sat Jul 31, 2004 4:41 pm

never more than 5000nps and i only spend close to that when i feel generous. i suspect Taelia has stopped giving out even r94 item as rewards and the rewards were always below r90 or r91-92(not sure of this)

Sat Jul 31, 2004 4:43 pm

cool. do you do any other quests?

Sat Jul 31, 2004 4:44 pm

Yeah, 5k is the most I'll spend, too.

Back when she gave out r99 items, I used to spend up to 30k per quest.

Made a lot of profit off reselling Fire Draik MPs that I got from her, then turned around and accidentally sold my DBD and never got another one from her. :(

If you fight in the Battledome, you're better off doing the Kitchen Quests, but those are crapshoots, too. Sometimes the Chef will boost a stat or something, but then sometimes he'll give you np that's worth less than the items you gave him.

(I just did a quest for him, and got 1 hit point for just under 3k worth of items (MUCH cheaper than a Faerie Queen Negg), but right now, he's wanting Chocolate Honey as one of the items, so I'm letting the current quest I got run out)

yuck!

when did she stop giving out r99 items? and why?

Sat Jul 31, 2004 4:50 pm

r99? the best item she gave out was up to r96 actually. the reason why you got fire draik mp and DBDs was because it was r94 and r96 respectively b4 they got upgraded in rarity index.

rachel: yes i do kitchen quests (ironically, i spend more on kitchen quest than Taelia's) and to a lesser extent nowadays Illusen's and Jhudora's. i would try to complete a brain tree quest every day but only if the total cost is less than 10k. Edna's quests are pretty good if they cost less than 2000 nps.

A long time ago. Late last year, I think. And probably because the TNT likes to nerf good things.

I managed to get about 3 or 4 Fire Draik MPs, a Dark Battle Duck (which I accidentally traded - not sold, like I said before), and a Green Scorchstone from her when she gave out r99 items.

I actually do the Kitchen Quests more often than the Snow Faerie quests now.

i've been trying to get taelia as a BD challenger, but every single time i've ever tried to quest for her, she's been asking for items adding up to over 30k!

i refuse to pay more than 3k, personally. which means i have never finished a snow faerie quest.

wow, she used to give out fire draik mps? i know she did give out battle ducks and dark battle ducks, the only items i get are snowballs :(

When I was a stupid person I got a wand of supernova from her..I sold it for 99,999np

Sat Jul 31, 2004 5:14 pm

how much they worth now?

Sat Jul 31, 2004 5:18 pm

130k but that is 30k more than I would have made

Sat Jul 31, 2004 5:20 pm

the most I pay for is 2k....
Since she gives back about 2k and an item.

Yesterday she asked me for 2 cheap healing potions which I already had!

Sat Jul 31, 2004 5:33 pm

I will only spend up to 2.5k on her. I'm cheap.

Ever since I started playing 20 months ago, I do the four quests religiously--as often as they will let me--and have made quite a sum of nps doing so. Twice, I even reached the limit of 15 and got the "Sorry, no more quests for you today."

The key to the quests is to think of it in terms of economics--is the expected return greater than the cost I am putting out? You need to say to yourself, am I willing to risk this amount of nps to possibly get a toy sailboat as my prize (I have).

You need to set a limit for each of the questors and not do any quests over that limit. Here are my guidelines to how much I spend for each quest: 200 for the witch, 400 for the esophagor, 400 for the kitchen dude, 2000-2500 for the Snow Faerie. Some people say my limit for the kitchen dude is too low--however, I don't battle. If I did battle, I would probably spend more on the kitchen dude.

If you do the quest and bring back the item, return immediately to the questor to ask for another quest. If you decide not to do the quest, return to the questor as soon as your time limit is up.

I think the best questor right now is the esophagor. I have gotten some really nice stuff from him that I later resold for 15K-50K. Sometimes, he gives out just released books that, if you are quick, you can sell for a really good amount. I never do his quest together with the brain tree. I never, ever gotten anything worthwhile by combining the two--and wasted a lot of nps in the process.

I believe the Snow Faerie stopped giving out really good items sometime last summer. Prior to the time, I had gotten many great things from the Snow Faerie--a sinsis sword, an iron lupe sword, a battle duck, a green scorchstone, a blue scorchstone, a really rare elephante battle item that I can't even remember, some morphing potions, and several items that hadn't yet been released in the shops, like the mosaic negg and McDonald's Fries, which I was able to turn around and sell instantly for 99,999 each.

However, the best I have gotten since then are things that I can resell for about 10,000-14,000K--a sweet and sour negg and a maple syrup negg are about the best things I can remember getting. The last time I did her quest, I got a healing potion X--woo hoo!!!, but at least the nps she gave me were more than I spent on the items she had asked for.

My guess as to why she stopped giving out really good things is because people were abusing the system--using multiple accounts to visit her so that they had a better chance of getting really good things from her.
