Neopets Shops?

Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:32 pm

Hello, I just joined Neopets yesterday, and have opened a shop today. I have already sold one item, which was pretty exciting for me.

I was just wondering how I could make lots of money through my shop, and some tips anyone may have about selling items for NeoPoints.

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Buy low, sell high!

There are a couple of strategies to this:

Strategy 1: Find a few shops in Neopia to hang out and "Restock" (RS). You'll need to learn what items are rare and which ones are overpriced and common. Keep watching the shop until "good" stuff shows up and buy it quickly. Put it in your shop and price it to sell. Note that the more rare items won't show up in the shops for you until your Neopets account is 3 to 4 months old.

Strategy 2: Keep wandering around Neopia and collect Random Events (REs). Sell the goodies you get for free.

Pricing the items in your shop will require using the Shop Wizard (SW). Put the item you're pricing in the SW and refresh a few times to see the lowest prices in Neopia. You will not get all prices at one time in the SW, so you do need to refresh a few times. Pick your selling price accordingly.

There are others, but these are the most common.

Good luck!

If you can't find an item on the Shop Wizard, try searching for it at the trading post or auction genie -- just in case you managed to snag a really rare item that's worth more than you can charge in your shop (which is 99,999 NP). If you do have a rare item to sell, we can help you with using either the auctions or trading post.

Here are three good shops to try:
Igloo Garage Sale, which does have some overpriced items. Ice lollies (not brucicles), codestones, neggs, A Mysterious Valentines Card, most collectable cards, most books, and some stamps will earn a profit. Avoid furniture, toys, candy, etc., unless you know it's a good deal.

Second Hand Shoppe, in which everything is free! Avoid the dung. There are a few things that only sell for 1NP, but once you learn those, you can try for the rarer, more valuable items. For both IGS and SHS, there's a daily limit on how much you can snag -- it used to be 10 in each, but I think IGS's has gone down (maybe to 5?). IGS will tell you when you've reached the limit; I don't think SHS does (I very rarely make the limit in either, so I'm not sure).

Collectable Sea Shells, in which there are only about 3 or 4 items that do not turn a profit. It doesn't restock in huge batches, but not a lot of people restock there, so I think it's a good shop for beginners.

If you like games at all, KeyQuest gives out item prizes that you can sell in your shop. So does Dice-a-Roo. And then there are a number of free (or pay-for-themselves) daily activities that also give items.

I'm fond of the Auction House myself. Not too many people partake in this, and because of this, you can snag 100 items cheap in a few days with constant bidding. About 50 items a day is a good number to get you going. Yes, I've done this. I tend to bid on anything that moved in the Auction House. Makes me feel like I own everything...and I will...someday...

Hey everyone,
As some of you may know, I play Neopets as well as I play VMK. I am not at all good in Neopets and I dont play it as often as I do with VMK, but, despite that, I was wondering if anyone who plays it has made, or knows of a VMK Guild. If you do, could you PM me the link? Ill be pleased to join.

Thanks in advance,
Karo
