Is It Just Me...

Fri Jul 30, 2004 6:41 pm

...or does it seem like Neopets is putting of Neoschools purposely? It seems as if they are coming up with excuses and completely totally random things so that we can't say they're not working. As in, giving the Times a new layout, or 'we're working on the TCG'.

They just want to have fun torturing us. <_>

Is it just me that doesn't really care about NeoSchools? I'd much rather a decent plot (yeh...decent...wonder if that'll ever happen) and something more interesting done with the BD (i.e. it giving out np!)

Oh, and more work stopping AutoBuyers/scammers/hackers/all things not wanted in neo.

I don't think the TCG or a new layout for the Times enough reason not to release the Sloth plot or Neoschools.

Neopets needs to hire more staff, in my opinion.

I don't really see what NeoSchools is exactly going to be about, so maybe that's why I don't really care about them, either. I'd much rather them release new a new plot, or continue with pet revamps.

But I do have 3 theories as to where Neoschools is at.

1 - They gave up because they are too busy with Merchandise (in which case a lot of people would be mad).

2 - They gave up because they realized that they couldn't program it, or it wasn't turning out the way they wanted it to, or something like that (in which case a lot of people would be mad, but it's a lot more understandable).

3 - Since they've delayed it so much, they might as well just wait until September to keep it in synch with the school year.

My guess is number 3. Though I suppose they STILL might not even be done with it, in which case, that would suck... for those who want NeoSchools that is.

Yeah, it does seem intentional. That one time, though, I did really think that they really were going to do it; they even made teachers for it and everything, but then they stopped working on it for no reason. It's like they do that to annoy us, really.
BTW, does anyone know where you can find that list of teachers? o_O

You'd think they'd realise that people are more intrested in the SITE then the merchendice.

I mean, who here still actually buys the cards? I stopped once they released the sloth one. I couldn't afford to buy them anymore, because the exspansion packs are coming out so frequently.

I'd never buy the merchandise, but I must admit I like the art and the ideas that are put into the trading cards. The Characters, the plots (BFM was rather interesting, and I think the Kreludor plot would've been neat) all of it are really great. I think the cards are the best Merchandise they acutally have.

surely if they're making sloth TCG, it would make sence to keep the plot.... and can't they just postpone the hannah one and keep on with the sloth one... it doesnt make sence really as they keep putting work into stuff (sloth, neoschools) and stopping half way through.

I have been stocking up on school items since the last skyrocket back in September. I have a whole lot of stuff in my shop, if you care to take a gander.

I don't care about neoschools either.
Just something that doesn't matter to waste money on.

Well, if it's number 2, then it's going to get ugly, because lots and lots of people stocked up on neoschool supplies, so they could make a profit. If neopets makes all of the neoschool items gifts or something, everybody will be screaming lost money. (me included)

Fri Jul 30, 2004 8:09 pm

on a variation of number 2, they might have decided to do it and not worked out how. not a problem with the programming, but the actual logistics...

Fri Jul 30, 2004 8:26 pm

I just want neoschools to come out so I can unload all these school supplies the TCG codes kept giving me. 8)

I don't understand this concept of neoschools at all. Is it like the training schools--i.e., you have to pay to go? Do your pets need good supplies to do well? Is it mandatory or optional to attend? Will it give your pets higher intelligence? Will your pets' current intelligence affect their grades? And the questions go on and on...

Really, I don't plan to bother with it. I hate school in real life--why make my pets suffer school in Neopia? ;)

Plus, many people have already trained their pets' intelligence to a very high level through books, Cliffhanger, etc. What's the point of sending an ultimate genius pet to school?

However, I do hope that Neopets will release Neoschools soon. It'd be a pity to have created all those school supplies and built up user anticipation all for nothing.

I'm with Moogum- I'm 90% sure they'll start them in Septemebr or so, when many kids go back to school. There were hints in the Magazine about such a release date.
