Hi fellow ppt members, I've created this thread to start spreading the word.
I've created a petition (
http://www.thepetitionsite.com/petition/429548594 ) on which I've given the idea of TNT creating a shop that sells codestones, dubloons and map pieces (the random event items) and the purpose of such a thing is to lower the cost of these and stop the inflation. This way we won't have such problems anymore. So sign on now and don't forget to spread the word, what are you waiting for?
I'm hoping of collecting 50,000 signatures and then send/show it to TNT.

I think it would be better if they'd simply tweak the random generator that determines how often codestones and the like should be distributed.

This is controlable though. That way you said the price is still under the hands of the players plus some might not be doing refreshing in the site alot. But by creating a shop they can always control the price from inflation.

Sorry, not signing. Codestone selling has become my new hobby on neo
I'm pretty sure they already tweak the random generators that give them anyway.. if you check the auctions on any given day you can see there are less of the cheaper ones (bri) and more of the expensive ones (lu). TNT isn't as oblivious to inflation as everybody seems to think. Besides, people who bought the lab at its current price would be pretty ticked if it suddenly went buyable.

Lessening inflation is a gradual process that takes a long time. Reversing it takes even longer

The issue isn't scarcity of codestones so much as it is the amount of Neopoints in the economy. They need to have something that increases the amount of NP that leaves circulation to fix a problem like this.

I agree with Shapu...perhaps tweaking the randomness would be better.

I'll sign, though I think the only way to get np out of circulation is to actualy have the aprils fools joke that made you have to pay NP when you do things (I don't remeber what it was called or from what here it was in though...)

Dont worry, sooner or later Tarla will start giving away codestones. She has already given away several diff map pieces and has given away 100 dubloon coins 6 times.

Everyone seems to forget that the reason Bri codestones are so comparatively cheap is that they were given out by the Advent Calendar a few years back. Lu Codestones were given out even earlier, but they seem to have leveled off by now.

Bri's can be won off the wheel of monotony - and semi-regularly. I probably win one every other week or so. I think that's primarily what has kept them low.

I haven't won a codestone from Tombola in months -- it used to be every few wins would have a codestone or bottled faerie, but now I only ever seem to win junk, even when I "win." Between fewer being given out in Tombola and more being used because of the plot, prices will be high for a while. Maybe they'll come back down after ROS is over.

TNT would never create a shop that took away from random events. Some people (I have been guilty of this) play games that require a multitude of page views in hopes of getting certain random events. In theory page views = profit for TNT and if it wasn't for the promise of possible random events, 90% of my neopet time could be dealt with with a page of links that would cut my page views waaaaay down.
But otherwise I think inflation sucks. The site is way too big for it to happen exactly as it did before, but I wish they would bring back the fountain faerie/sponsors partnership. Just someway people could quest for colors (that they can't resell) just to give paintbrushes a bit of a break.

TNT adressed it in the editorial. Seems that they want to stop it too. The question is basically: Oh noes, inflation! But their answer is quite interesting
Hello TNT. I'm an intermediate Neopets member with a lot of goals. One of my first goals is getting enough NP to buy a paint brush. What I've noticed is that, comparing now to the times that my older, more experienced guild members can recall, there are almost none in circulation, or the demand for them in the market is so high that players have raised their prices a few hundred thousand NP. Now, releasing more PB's for the sake of the whining masses is wrong, but with the ever-growing number of Neopets members and the fact that painting one's Neopet is still a very staple goal of the site, I worry about the newbies and players like myself who haven't a clue as to how they're going to catch up to Neopia's ever-rising prices. Please help or advise, and thank you for your consideration. ~vulpes_fulva
We were just discussing inflation a bit this morning, actually! We, too, are concerned with the skyrocketing prices of paint brushes and codestones. While we don't want to make PBs easy to get, we do think they are getting quite ridiculously overpriced. We're currently discussing ways to help bring a bit more balance to the economy.

I'm not so concerned about the prices of paint brushes. I like them being hard to get so I can feel proud when I save up for a special color.
But I am concerned about the prices of codestones, good weapons and the lab map. They just seem to be going up way too much.
