Neomail translation?

Thu Jul 19, 2007 1:00 am

I got a Neomail today that is in a different language. I think it's German. I tried to translate it, but could only get a few words to work correctly. If someone could please translate it, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Subject: hallo Person. Sie sind so küh

Message: Hallo, ist mein Name Siena. Wie Sie das erhalten, Neo-post zu gefallen ich Sacheform Ihr Geschäft. Bitte so Neo-post ich zurück mit dem Info! Tschuess.

I thought it was kind of strange because the user that sent it to me isn't named Siena, lives in the US and has English on their lookup. o.0 I didn't want to ask on the NeoBoards, in case it was something inappropriate.

My Boratesque translation from Babel Fish:

Hello, is my name Siena. Like it received, Neo post office to please I thing form your business. Ask so Neo post office I back with the info.! Tschuess.

:D

It doesn't make sense to me either.

Sounds like what I got lol. Thanks for trying though. =P

I'm thinking they might have seen something on my lookup/shop/gallery/pet, want to know how I got it, and to Neomail them how? I Neomailed them back saying I only speak English... So I don't know... o_O

Its German...but very poor german. It might be a dialect simular to german but I cant be sure without hearing it spoken aloud.

also they might be an immigrant. they may live in the US but English might be their 2nd language.

did you send her a message back saying you speak english?

Heh, I can't figure out the second sentence:
Hello, my name is Siena. <As you have received, I would like to neomail you> <something> your shop. Please send back a neomail with the information. Bye!

MarchingDuck, maybe it could be Bavarian? You're right, even the first sentence seems a bit strange...

Edit: Ooh, "geschäft" can mean business, but also shop :)

Well the English on their user lookup is pretty "fluent", it seems kind of tween. I do have something in my shop that says if someone is interested in Premium to Neomail me. Could that be it? Oh and yea I did send a message back saying I speak English.

Thanks for all your help guys. :)

I'm pretty sure thats it. She mentions your shop and if your offering premium then thats it.

and I think she's northern german. it might explain why her german much more "slangy" (i made up a new word) than traditional german.

(trust me, I took german for almost 8 years. There's some words in that letter I didnt even understand lol)

It could be the introduction of "new" internet words, too :) I had trouble not too long ago reading something that used words for our equivalents of "webpage", "link", "button", etc... they were never taught to us at school, because it was all too new!

Just wanted to let you guys know that she sent me a Neomail back. It was in complete English (all caps) and she said she used an online translator. She said she wanted me to join her guild. The whole situation doesn't make much sense to me. o.0

Eh oh well. Again, thanks for all the help. :D
