New ads on neo?

I seem to be getting ads (I think they are google or something) that are making my browser stick and take awhile to load which messes up the clock. This only started happening in the last few days. Did they add some new ads? Can they be blocked?

I think so. I am seeing a new table with the text "No links to display" or something, so I assume it will become an ad.
