To get your answer, run through the old Gallery Spotlights and look. I can't give you an exact number, and there likely isn't one. They've had winners with very few items, but a really well thought out theme and layout. On the whole it seems that they choose winners who show they've put a lot of time and effort into their gallery, as well as come up with a theme and graphics that people will get a kick out of looking at. Yeah sometimes they choose duds, but that's the way the cookie crumbles and they will have had their reasons for selecting those, but on the whole they pick really awesome galleries with however many items it took to complete the theme. People who couldn't afford all the items usually display the still sought after items at the top of the gallery.

Depending on your category or theme. I would say having a good collection of both cheap and expensive items would be good, along with a nice background and other things.

I think it also depends on the specific topic of your gallery. If it is broad and popular, you have to think about the fact that you are competing with everyone else who has the same collection. Your gallery should be pretty dang full and have a snazzy layout to seperate it from the rest. If the topic is more narrow, I'd say completion is important along with uniqueness.

Very good advice, I think everyone's tired of plushie collectors. (Me haha) But be as unique as you can!

And don't forget, the layout and graphics don't need to be made by you, though be sure to credit them. (I'm hoping to find someone to make me some graphics and a layout someday, I haven't had much luck with making them)

According to the spotlight rules, you have to have the creator's permission to use them.
