EXTREMELY URGENT: Subeta/Neopets/Gaia Users

If you own a Subeta.org account and any of your accounts on other sites share the same username and password, please change those passwords immediately.


An incident recently occurred between a site called 420chan and Subeta. 420chan created the meme that the 'Longcat' item on Subeta is based on, and they asked Subeta to take the item down. When Subeta refused to remove the item, it pretty much erupted into a DOS (Denial of Service) war.

The bottom line is that Subeta's security was compromised. Many Subeta fansites have been hacked. They have a very long list of account names and passwords. If you use the same account information for multiple sites, your accounts are at risk. The only site I know of now that has been targeted for this so far is Gaiaonline, and to a lesser extent, Deviantart. So if you own an account there that shares login info with Subeta, change it right quick.

I feel this is an important announcement because, as you know, PinkPT is affiliated with Subeta. We have an entire Subeta section. Also, we don't know if 420chan will decide to target Neopets accounts as well. It is better to be safe than sorry, so if you have a Subeta account whose login information is the same as another account on another site, CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY. Also make sure to change your e-mail password if that applies.

Don't panic right now. So far I haven't seen any indication that PPT or Neopets is being targeted, but that can change and quick. We all know what a pain it is to get a Neopets account unfrozen and your items back, and just to let you know, the hacker has been posting pornography and pictures of dead babies and other disgusting things all over the accounts he's hacked.

Please spread the word. If you have any online friends who play Subeta and aren't already aware of this, they need to know and now. These may just be pixels at stake, but they're pixels you worked long and hard for.

I'm not even sure it was them who came up with longcat anyway. It could have been one of the other #chans.

wow thanks for the heads up on that i have a subeta account cause i randomly made one when bored but dont play.... sounds like it's time for me to change my passwords on neo. I dont think i've ever done it so now would be a good time for change lol

I only joined Subeta because there pets are so cool looking.... As far as i've been able to tell there games suck tho... and honestly that's a big part of neo for me. I like to be able to play games when I want. and Subeta's games bore me the few i can find and play that is. They seem to have to many 'pay points' games.
