Sutek's Tomb tips

Wed Jun 02, 2004 4:58 am

Since someone asked in another topic, here are my tips for getting, well, any score you want. To get 142,000 points, I just did a few simple things.
First, as soon as the game started I entered the pyramibread cheat. That will list on the screen an available combo. Then I'd basically just look for combos. If I didn't see one instantly (very important) I'd click control and the combo cheat would occur again.
As long as you can find a combo right after the last one is clicked, you should be fine. What used to kill me was the delay in looking instead of using the cheat. That's basically the key, just remembering to use pyramibread instantly, because it itself has a little delay. You can also use the cheat that gives you more time, but you shouldn't need it at all if you get into the groove and find tiles quickly. Using the cheat too much can hurt you too. It's always faster to find combos yourself. If you only rely on the cheat to find them, I think you may run out of time.
Oh, each time the board shuffles, it pauses. Try to take breaks when this happens instead of wasting game pauses. Also, when you're ready to play after a shuffle, look at the board before you click. Though some of the board is covered, you can still make out some tiles below the grey.

Hope this helps :)

Wow, that's quite an impressive score.

Just a question...when you said you press control to get the cheat again, can you clarify that? I don't exactly see how pressing control would make it work again o.O Or maybe I'm just stupid...

If you get stuck you can also take a screenshot and then pause it, look at the screenshot, plan what you're going to do, and then unpause the game.

By pressing control it repeats it, I tryed it and it works.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, Shadow of Life :)

DJ Phob, that's an extrememly good idea. I'll have to try that sometime ^_^

I wouldn't suggest the pause thing unless you absolutely had to. You're only allowed three pauses, and I saved those for the times when I'd need to stop the game (when my work called, when my piano teacher called). It's much safer just to use the cheat. To get a high score, you're going to have to play for many many hours, and you never know what could happen in that time that might make you have to leave the game for a minute.

Oh, and beware submitting. I wasn't able to get my trophy because the process needed to submit the game was down. I won't go into the feelings I was feeling at that moment...

Did they change the pause feature then? I remember when broo was the BTY challenger, I was able to screenshot + pause as often as I wanted.

After that BTY, I think they changed the pause feature, as mentioned above. I just wrote the game guide on PPT and submitted when they changed it.

But if you ask me, the pause button really skewed the game completely. It's useful for real world things (phone call, emergency food call, etc.) - but for gameplay, it just made the game all the easier to exploit.

Also, is it just me, or does it say "no more moves" even when you still have?

I had that a few times. I really thought I had plenty of moves, but then it said "no more moves". Is neopets trying to make sure I won't get a high score?

And the pyramibread cheat doesn't work for me, did neopets disable it?

Now the truly hard part is finding the patience to sit still and play that long.

It still seems to work for me...not sure why it won't for you

Oh, and the whole patience thing is right. To keep myself from going absolutely crazy, I played in 5000 point increments. After each 5000 or so (depending on when the 'no more moves' pause comes up), I'd go watch a few minutes of tv or something. It was kinda nice when I had to go to work and take a nice 8 hour break from the game :)

*stupid* What's the Pyramibread cheat?

When you type "pyramibread" I think it's supposed to show you a move you can make. You could use it an unlimited amount of times.
