Esophager

Ok, he asked me for a chocolate covered peanuts and this costs 6500np. Luckily I already had this item in my safety deposit box but I'm not sure on doing this. Should I finish the quest or just forget about it and sell my item?

Your best bet is to forget the quest. And sell the item really. Anything over a few hundred NP's that you give him is a gamble. I say sell the item and wait for a cheaper quest.

Most people that I know choose to set their spending limit at 100 NP when it comes to Esophagor quests. Usually the items he gives are not worth much more than that.
