That happend to me when I was getting things of the money tree. Did you also notice that the wheel of excitement has not been spinning?

The wheels haven't spun for me for a few days now. I can still collect my prize (or lack thereof), but the actual animation doesn't seem to work.

True,you can still collect your prize on the wheels. Is this some kind of bug? If it is then maybe I should report it to neopets.

Yeah, Subeta hated images for a few hours earlier today. That made digging for gems really difficult.
I haven't noticed any lagging with Neopets, though. All of the flash games I played worked fine, anyway.
