Transferring pts for adam avvie.

Thu Mar 08, 2007 7:00 pm

I am deciding of "borrowing" a few million nps from my friend in order to get the avvie. However, is it ok to let's say set up an auction on a rotten shoe for 4M nps and return it later? I mean will it like catch the attention of TNT( aka hey why is there a few million bid on this piece of junk? )

I think it should be fine, but the limit of NP per trade is only 800,000 NP. You might want to set up a Neofriends only auction with a wait of 1/2 hr to 1 hr and have your friend put something up for bid with the minimum of how much you want to transfer. Either way, I am sure it happens all the time. And I am sure TNT knows what is going on. :)

EDIT: Woke up late and read too fast. You were already talking about actions lol. Sorry, but anyway I think it should work out fine. Good luck!

All right thanks for the reply. Anyway, would a rotten shoe going for 4M be fine? Have you personally tried it before? Thanks again.

I see people auction worthless junk for millions all the time, it's when people want to transfer large amounts of NP with someone they trust or who they owe NP... Whether or not TNT likes it, I have no clue, but I have seen it for sure.

I'm almost positive that TNT has mentioned seeing tons of NP going from one account to another for no apparent reason is a huge red flag that someone is stealing an account.
I don't know how closely they watch that stuff, but I'd definitely keep that in mind before you do something like that. Personally, I wouldn't run the risk of getting frozen over one avatar. We all know how fast TNT replies to the "I was frozen unfairly!" emails. :/

I have done it. Granted it was with an item worth about 1,000 NP and not a rotten shoe, but I don't think it makes a difference. The only 'problem' we had was one person watching our neofriend-only auction  neomailed the person bidding and asked if they meant to bid 10M on a 1k item, but otherwise all went fine. Neither of us were sure if it was a genuinely concerned Neopian or a potential scammer, so we didn't answer. :P

Didn't Neopets stop auctions of junk items a while ago? If you don't want to raise any red flags, it is probably a good idea to put something valuable up for auction. Surely you have something more valuable in your possession than a rotten shoe. Something worth more than a few hundred nps. Besides, it is always a good idea that some type of collateral is exchanged for the nps. Even if you are bestest friends. I have seen too many people get burned by lending things to "friends" and never getting them returned. Or a glitch or pant devil swiping them.

Nothing wrong with putting up an expensive item for NP, then doing the same in reverse to return it. That wouldn't look too bad at all. That is what I did when I borrowed a large amount of NP in the past.

All right then I guess I'll just put 5 items on the trades for the max 800k each. This should be safer. Thanks for the replies.

edit: Just finished returning the nps. Hopefully turns out fine when I log into my account when I wake up.
