I have my Internet explorer formatted with a CSS sheet to stop the top banners. It has always worked but I just went on and every neopets page has a strange Yellow top banner with 5 flashing stars. I have restarted IE and changed the style sheet but it's still there.
Anyone else having this problem?

It's the new loading banner. It's probably there to encourage people to give up on adblocking, since you don't get the advantage of not having a distraction up there.

So is TNT just trying to make us stop blocking ads? The reason I blocked them is because some of the ads were inappropriate and some were really flashy wich is really distracting. I even heard that some people got a virus and pop up windows from it. (not sure that is true though)
I know alot of people blocked ads for the same reason. If TNT would screen the ads better then a lot less people would probably block ads. I personally think that's better then what they're doing now.

yeah I've been watching one set of stars for about 6 minutes now and its yet to stop. And I don't use any adblock stuff that I know about. On Safari About 1/2 -1/3 of the adds never load and I have blank colour barfor them now I have Annoying stars they need a cycle out time or something.

some browsers (like firefox) automatically block ads...
but yeah those stars need to go. *walks off to write an angry letter*

Writing a letter is pointless. Technically we're not supposed to block the adds. All writing a letter would do is cause them to find out how many people block images instead of buying premium.

Yeah but what about those of use that don't try to block the adds (much as that mosquito buzzing sound one makes me want to) I as I said before use Safari on my imac and have never fiddled with the settings why should users like me get punished when not seeing the adds is in no way our fault or intent. All I'm asking for is they have some kind of time out on the loading stars I had to run off to doing something and in the 20 minutes I was gone the thing is still flashing. A 30 secound time is all I ask.

Here's the link to our
thread. Try following those steps and see if it helps.

Thanks Huggles. I read the thread and tried some stuff out, but it didn't work for me.
I use IE and have my CSS set like this:
div.ban,div#ban {
display: none !important;
}
Can anyone help me?

Sadly, the virus from one of the rotating ad servers is TRUE. Anyway, for IE users, make a plain text file in Notepad and add (not sure if the last line is needed, but it certainly won't hurt anything):
- Code:
table{background:none}
#ban{display:none}
#ban_spacer{display:none}
#ban_spacer.show{display:none}
Name the file something like neoadblock.css and save it anywhere such as on your C drive (main dir). Go to Tools > Internet Options > (General tab) Accessibility > (check) Format documents using my style sheet > Browse to the file you just saved and click OK. Might need to restart the browser, but then the banner should be gone. If you are like me and also block the ads individually and per server, you might still find some ad placeholders in that spot on certain pages. In Avant (or Orca) you can right-click and Block all ads from the same server. Otherwise, you may edit your HOSTS file and list the servers manually as you encounter them (right-click on the ad space > Properties to find the server name).
This completely cleared up everything for me.
Good luck everyone!

I don't mind the new 'loading' stars, because they seem simutaneously to have fixed the ad I hate worst, the floating 'You have won our hourly prize!' one. It never loaded right for me, it kept the rest of the page from loading at all, and for some mysterious reason I always had to go back two pages instead of one to get rid of it. It was a real nuisance whenever I tried to play non-flash games.
I think maybe Spyware Blaster was trying to block it unsucessfully. At any rate, it was such a dubious-looking thing that I was afraid to even touch it with my mouse. Now it fits into the top banner and I can ignore it.

It's an eyesore on my shop and gallery. Neopets isn't the only site I used Adblock on. :/
