I currently have 600K... It's taken me about a year to get this far, and a year before that, to purchase the lab map.
I don't really have the motivation to play games for a whole extra-year, and I've heard alot about restocking.
Let's say, my budget is 300K.
What should I invest in? My shop size is 6.
Sniping the wizard, or main shop buying?
Or am I just playing the wrong games?
Any help would be nice.

how have you gotten that much money so far is what i'd love to know lol..just by playing games??

Playing games is the key. I've only been playing for a year and I've bought morphing potions, Secret Lab Map, Petpet Lab Map, a couple paint brushes (both for the same pet...couldn't make up my mind), and I've done a couple other things. Now I've decided to go for the Adam Avatar. I don't want to say how much I have because I haven't had issues with anyone trying to get my account and I don't want to start now.
As for your question, I've been focusing on getting items I know people will buy. Things like Codestones, Bottled Faeries, and Dubloons. If you have Premium, it makes it way easy to make a profit through your store.

I've made all mine through the stock market. Buy 1000 stocks that are worth 15NP every day until you've spent as much as you can. Then wait. Sell when that stock hits 60. You absolutely rake it in. But you have to be patient.

If playing games is your thing, then stick to easy games, games that'll get you 1000 per play in the shortest amount of time. You probably have at least one game that you're good at. Otherwise, train in some of the games that get lots of NP fast.
A couple of examples (for me, that is) are Bouncy Supreme, Bruno's Breakaway and Caves and Corridors. Remember, the point is not to finish the game, but simply to reach the 1000NP barrier. If you just play one single game 3x a day, you'll have 3000 x 365 = 1.095.000 NP already in one year. Play 2 games a day (it takes about 10-15 minutes) and you have enough cash to buy other things as well. Just find the right game for you
If you don't play games regularly, then restocking is probably not for you either. Restocking takes even more time and patience, although you could earn more of course. At least with games you can change to other games for a while if you get bored of one

If you are good at games (or at least certain games) enter in the World Challenge (WC) - if you win you get a map piece - these sell from 15,000 upwards or if you collect all 20 pieces for the map you will get 2,000 nps and an item. Items are usually Paintbrushes/Petpet Paintbrushes.
Here is the WC main page link:
http://www.neopets.com/challenges/world_index.phtml
I have managed to win about 10 paintbrushes in 2006.
Paintbrushes won:
Ghost Petpet Paint Brush
Cloud Paint Brush
Biscuit Paint Brush (x2)
Tyrannian Paint Brush
Scritchy Sketchy Paint Brush
Checkered Paint Brush
Invisible Paint Brush
Brown Paint Brush
Shadow Paint Brush
Snow Paint Brush
Split Paint Brush
A lot of people trade map pieces so it makes it easier to complete maps.
Also invest in your shop - upgrade it.

You can make a lot restocking, but it takes a lot of time.

Since you have the seed money for the Stock Market, I'd say go for that. I've probably made about 3.5 million in the Stock Market, and it takes a maximum of five minutes a day to invest and check my stocks.
My personal plan for investing and selling is as follows:
A. I bought 1000 shares at 15 NP every day. I diversified, and invested in as many different companies as I could. When I can't buy from a new company at 15 NP a share, I buy from whichever one I have the least of. Altogether, I try to have 6000 shares of the companies.
B. I sell 3000 shares at 30, which covers the cost of buying all the shares.
C. I sell 1000 shares at 45, and another 1000 at 60.
D. The last 1000 shares I hold on to, in case the price skyrockets.
There may be more profitable ways of investing, but my plan has paid off thus far, and it's a minimal effort with a bigger payout than I ever got from anything else.

Don't the stocks change every 15 minutes, though? Or is that something I picked up along the way that has absolutely no truth behind it?

It's every 30 minutes, but since you can only buy 1000 shares a day, and the shares usually only gain or lose a few points a day, you really only need to check your portfolio once or twice a day.

"Camp" the Igloo on Terror Mountain. When I was serious about making neopoints and had time to spare on the computer I had a window open on the igloo and just refreshed, grabbing items that I knew I could resell fast and for a good profit, (1k-10k or more if you're lucky.
I made 1 mill. in roughly three months just grabbing items in the Igloo. It doesn't hurt to play a few games in between Igloo refreshes of course.
After a week or two you'll get the restock pattern it has, and you'll know when to check back right before it refreshes so you can grab the best items before they're bought.

Yup, just games- but I'm only good at a very select few.
---
Stock Market, I do that, but not regulary. Considering how it stands now:
Totals: 2,000 32,000 20,000
I'm slowly getting back up to 32K.. It was originally all the way down to 6K.
What stocks should I buy? I mean, surely there are a select few that are better than the rest?
Is neodaq truthful?
I'm going to start restocking when I get to one million.

Only invest in those stocks which are 15NP or 16NP each. Never above. Try and buy as many different stocks as you can. No stock is that much better than any other. For example, FISH is renowned for being a slow-burner but at the moment, it's sitting in the 30s.

Just buy 1,000 shares a day at 15, do it everyday and you will make some good money. There is no reason you cant do all 3, buy stocks, play a few games you are good at and slowly get into restocking.

Hmmm... I think I can say I made my first million in 2 months, and all I did was play games (contantly and addictively, I confess) and practically sell half the item I had.
To get my second million, I managed to keep hold of my items and started doing those 30k-a-day things.
As everyone says, games are key to your neopoint income
Good luck!
