Restocking Advice Needed

Mon Nov 13, 2006 6:42 am

I really want to get into stocking up my shop and making some serious neopoints. Does anyone have any good advice?

Start in low profile shops, get comfortable with it, move up, get comfortable restocking there, when you think you've mastered that shop, go up etc. :)

Practice practice practice :)

What kinds of items should I be looking for?

Depends on the shop - wait for restock and instead of buying something note down what got stocked, then research which items are good profit if nabbed and eventually you'll know the restocks like the back of your hand :)

I suppose a better question would be "What kinds of items tend to sell really well in a shop?"

Pick something that you are interested in. The rest is mostly trial and error to see what works best for you.

Plushie shop is too difficult for beginners - too much traffic there and too few good ones. Also, even some of them appear to be rare, you will end up losing money on them since they sell even cheaper in the user's shop. Don't know much about faerie bookshop.

I find card shop works well for beginners. They sell at a slower pace, and if you haggle smartly, you can make profits on most of the cards there. Cards also sell pretty quickly in your shop. And, as an added bonus, you can score some rare cards (grey or gold ones) occasionally for a good profit.

I've found a shop that works well for me (1.2 mil item today!), but it seems like restocking is less than 8 times per hour. I just recently returned to restocking and it feels like it's restocking far less than it used to.

It helps me to have a good TV show playing on one monitor while I'm refreshing and keeping an eye on the shop in the other one. Stops me from getting too bored, at least.

Be careful about paying 15k for an item unless you're certain it sells for more. It's easy to accidentally buy something on the spur of the moment because it seems rare. Memorize the super-rare ones, but don't forget about the ones that sell for a more modest profit, as you'll see more of them. It takes a while to learn, but it's worth it.

Stick with one shop and keep up to date on the prices. Be careful with new items. They tend to start high and drop fast. Keep an eye on the news and pay attention to the prices of the new items.
