Guild Mailings

Fri Oct 13, 2006 11:54 pm

In the help section of neopets, where we can change our options, theres something called "Guild Mailings" where you have the option to accept them, or deny them. Now I've searched the topics in neopets itself, and int he catagories dealing with guilds, and I cant find anything dealing with it. Does anyone know what guild mailings are, and how do you revieve them?

Guild mailings are NeoMails that are sent out by the officers in your guild. Some guilds send them out more than once a week; others don't use the feature. :)

This would probably be better in the help section.

But as far as I know, if you select guild mailings, you make one nmail and everyone in the guild gets it. It is a mass mailing system.

But how exactly do you do it?

I am the leader of a guild, so maybe I can help you out here. The guild leader is given a set list of powers: one of them is the power to send a mass-mailing to guild members. The leader can also give council and subcouncil members this power, if the leader so desires. Only one mass-mailing can be sent out per day. If you have the power to send out mailings, the words "My Guild Members" shows up in the "Select a Neofriend" section of the neomail that you are sending. However, the mailing only goes to those guild members who have chosen to accept guild mailings in their User preferences section (which is a royal pain in the neck to a guild leader, because you don't know who is and who is not getting your mailings).

Just out of curiousity, what guild are you the head of?

:roflol: I have that power and I didn't even know. I had never checked.

Hi there! Just wanted to thank you for posing this question!! I am a guild leader and I have the option to send them, but I had tried it several times and they hadn't been working and now I know why!! It's because my guild members have to check that box to ALLOW the mailings! None of us had realized it!

Anyway, I can see everyone has been answering the question already-- but the distinction is important! Guild mailings can only be sent by the leader or designated council in a guild-- BUT the members themselves have to change their options to allow themselves to recieve the mailings! Thanks again! :)
