Question..

Sun Oct 01, 2006 2:40 pm

I got a Bag of Broken Neopoints from fishing.. Is it more profitable to fix it or sell it?

I usually sell them. If you fix them, you usually get between 1-2k. And they sell from 2-3k

TNT stated in the editorial that you can't get more than 2000np from fixing the bag of broken nps.

No idea how anyone could sell it for more than 1700np.

I'll fix it if i were you.

Remember if Donny ask for money, leave and return untill he does it for free :)

This is totally illogical. You can get much less than 2000NP from fixing it, and the most you can get is 2000. I just SW'ed it, and here are the lowest prices for a few different letters:

Shop Owner Item Amount in Stock Price
grammajan420 Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 1,980 NP
tu_ma_max2 Bag of Broken Neopoints 7 1,980 NP
dawley123 Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 1,999 NP
osma_1 Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 2,000 NP
1350151 Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 2,075 NP
xs_snuggles0512 Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 2,050 NP
bankybrodie Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 2,090 NP
kyo_suki_alice_4ever Bag of Broken Neopoints 1 2,099 NP

So depending on what letter your username starts with, you could sell it for anywhere from 1979 to 2098 NP and still make a quick sell. Even if you fell at the lower end of the spectrum, would you really risk a sure 1979 NP in hopes of getting 21 NP more, while risking getting anywhere from 1 to 979 NP less? You've got better odds in Vegas! Of course, the casinos do manage to stay in business because of people who don't understand simple math...

That's my point, the bags are still in the shops because nobody is buying them. Sure you can put them at your shop for 99999nps even but it's very hard to sell because of the editorial.

I would only buy them at 1000np. It has happened before.

Oh that's good to hear. I always had the bag fixed because I thought I could get lucky and get more than the SW was asking for. I guess that's not the case, so I'll be selling my bags of broken neopoints now! Although, I'm not exactly GETTING those things anymore....-_-

They sell if you competitively price them. In the past month, I've sold 6 of them from between 2100 and 1900 neopoints. Lately, it's been at the lower end of the spectrum though.

Fortunately, many people don't read the editorial because it's not worth buying them for anything more than maybe 500-600 NP where you're almost guaranteed to get a decent profit off them instead of losing money buying at 1900 or more. But people will still buy them at or above 1900 so that's their loss.

I still have 4 of them left in my SDB and am debating whether or not to sell them now or wait and see how the market fluctuates. Either way, I can still make about as much money off them either getting them fixed for free or selling them if the price stabilizes or goes up.

I've sold about half a dozen Bags of Broken Neopoints since that editorial came out--all for 2,000 np - 2,200 np each.

A lot of people don't read the editorial and a LOT of people don't believe the editorial and are still trying for that million np bag.

Maybe, but a whole lot of people read this forum.

More reasons to fix it yourself.

I get bags of broken neopoints all the time when fishing, and have had no problems with selling them for around 2000np. Every now and then I do go and get one fixed just for fun though :) I usually get anywhere from 1000-1700np.

No, actually that's an argument to sell them.

good luck with that, the price has just dropped again to 1850.

Soon it will reach a point where it'll be profitable to just fix it yourself.

Alright. Keep fixing them, then. I have some I'll sell you for 1850 -- are you actually buying at that price?

When I put them at 2000, I have never had one last in my shop more than 24 hours.
