A couple of weeks ago, there was a concert at the Tyrannian Concert Hall, and one of every species of pet attended.

A Lupe and a Grundo attended the concert together. A Ruki and an Acara attended together also. And a Techo, a Scorchio and a Lutari all went together.

What species of pet accompanied the Meerca?

There was a hint given on the Neoboards last night that helped me. I guess I can repeat it -- it might help to look at some previous conundrums.

Solution: Look at LC #183 (the "a couple weeks ago" hints at this). Note that pets who have the same "score" went to the concert together. The Hissi has the same score as the Meerca, so the answer is Hissi.
