For Neopets ONLY discussion.

I figured out how to secure your bank. Do this when you want to restrict your spendings, or prevent your np being stolen (for a day).
You know how the bank says:
If you withdraw Neopoints too many times a day, the bank staff may get angry and refuse to serve you!
Just withdraw 1 np from your bank 15 times when you are done playing neopets for the day (or when a sibling wants to use the computer). When you try to withdraw more, it gives you the error:
ERROR : Sorry, you have already attempted to withdraw Neopoints
15 times today. Please wait till tomorrow.
(now you have one less thing to worry about.)

Good idea, but if you needed to widthdraw NP after that....it's bad time.

You might want to keep an amount of np in on hand, not so much that you will go flaming mad if you lost it, but a good enough amount.

Thats a good tip. I do that after I finshed using a public computer and now I won't be logging in again for the day.

A better tip would have been to always logout, but in case you forget that...

The cookies are still there though. Someone else using the same computer can use those cookies to get into your account unless you changed your password at a different computer.

Yeah, I've been thinking about doing that so I'm not tempted to spend my NP, but then I'd kick myself if I found a really good deal on the TP or something.

I'm running out of money for restocking
Hopefully i'll get some from my shop
Edit: Oops. the items had prices of 0. maybe that's why.

the problem with trick is that if you forgot to lo on, you would still lose most of your items to a hacker. So you should just practice the good habit of logging out and deleting cookies.

hEeey that's a neat idea! I'll definitely put this in PPT.

most people wouldn't do because of rare deals that might be on the trading post. also restockers would definitely not do this because of sudden needs of nps.

ccy, after the security glitch I went through that 15 withdrawals every day for at least 2 weeks, just as a precaution. I know plenty of other people who did it too, along with adopting then abandoning a pet every day.
No matter where you log in, you shoud really always log out, clear your temporary internet and your cookies! most importantly. I do that after I visit any site as part of my safe surfing. After awhile it just becomes second nature. Also do not store passwords. I know, it can be a pain to remember them, but write them down if you need to.
Unfortunately, if someone does get into your account none of your items are safe. Unless there comes a time when, say, your trades or sdb is password protected, there's no way to keep them safe. I know there was a discussion a while back about having a separate password for your bank and sdb...
I understand the needs of rs'ers (though I'm not one of them) to be able to access their np too, though. I guess have a certain amount out of the bank each day and if you sell through your shop, leave those np in your till as a back-up? Just a thought.

Yeah, but if you're just a gamer or something, it's a good idea. It's also good if you're a chat regular... the more well-known people get targeted more for hackings and stuff.

Yes, but you don't do it until your about to log out, it would pretty dumb to do it while your still in your account playing the game.
Another way to stop people gaining entrance to your account, is to log out, then try and get in using the wrong password until you get the message 'You have tried too many times for today'
