Royal pbs and gender changing

Sun Aug 06, 2006 2:36 am

How does one get a female royalboy zafara?

Or a male royalgirl lupe?

I've seen both a female royalboy zafara and a male royalgirl lupe while browsing pet lookups. (I'm not giving out names because I don't want their owners to be pestered or reported or something.) How is this possible?

Is it faked by fiddling with pet lookup's code? Or is it real, in which case I assume you do it by zapping a royal-painted pet (risky business!) or fighting against the mad scientist scorchio (much safer)?

Any info would be appreciated. I'm mainly curious, but also I rather dislike the royalgirl zafara and may consider painting my zafara royalboy, since I do like that color.

Thanks!

It's real. Let's say you have a female flotsam and you paint her royal. If you then battled the Lab ray scientist to change her gender to male, or used a strange potion or some other expensive way to do so, the pet would still have the title and the image of the royalgirl, but have male listed as the gender. Fun stuff.

Basically, paint the pet when the gender matches the image you want, then find a way to change it's gender after the painting.

Oh, so that's it. Thank you!

This is so cool - cross-dressing neopets! xD I hope TNT meant it to be this way, and they don't try to "fix" it so that the color changes with gender.

Someone wondered if it was a glitch in the Editorial, and TNT stated that it wasn't nor was it going to change anytime soon.

Battle the mad scientist scorchio? How do you do that?

You don't - I believe that was meant to mean take a chance with the lab ray, basically. :)

You can battle the Lab Ray Scientist, you get it as a random event when using the Lab Ray.

And this scientist will randomly change the gender of your pet, but dosen't do any other colour changing tricks.

Which is fabulous. I've used it to change the gender of my lab rats upon occasion.

Personaly I would probably being able to switch easily betwen royal girl and boy, sort of like repainting your pet for free. But i'm fairly sure that a pet is never painted "royal" the colour is either "royalgirl" or "royalboy" so TNT would have to institue a special case eveywhere gender changes appear in the site to check if the pet was royal and if so repaint the pet.

Yep. He's a challenger. You get him by refreshing here, but it only works if you have access to the lab.

Wow, I never knew that. o.O Thanks! Good thing I do now - I'd hate for my pet to change gender.
How often does it change? Is it extremely rare or might it happen every so many battles?

It's happened very often for me. But it's only when you fight that one challenger and you can alwasy fight him again to change it back. Realy once you have him you can change it at any time. Which is convienent becuase the strange potion is so epensive.

His IDB profile
http://idb.finalhit.org/?searchtype=one ... ger=labray
Lists all his weapons, including the strange potion. Although it dosen't mention how often he uses each of them.

that's awesome, I'm just surprised I never got him as a challenger in all the years I've been using the lab ray.

(Pieces were like 9,000 each when I bought the map.)
