How much should i expect to pay for a full Secret Laboratory Map. (Not PetPet)

Sat Jul 15, 2006 7:51 am

About 600,000 NPs.

I've seen full sets for 510,000 NP's but they're usually somewhere around 530-600,000 NP's :)

I bought mine for about 430,000 -- I used the shop wiz and bought the pieces individually. It only took about 15 minutes, really. I drew a map, numbered the pieces, and recorded the best price for each piece that I saw (along with who had it). This was easy because most shops had multiple pieces. When I was done, I changed my password just to be safe. I've actually thought this would be an easy way to make neopoints -- buy the individual pieces for cheap, then trade them as a set -- 15 minutes of work for 100K NP+ ain't bad! Now I can't think why I haven't done this yet. Of course, now that the TP isn't safe, I'll wait until the all-clear...

That's a good idea, I am one of those people who would pay a bit extra for something else to do this work for me!!

Yeah, it is a *lot* cheaper to buy it piece by piece. On the other hand, it can be frustrating when you can't find certain pieces, which are more expensieve on the SW anyway.

If you want it, but don't have the money just yet, you might want to buy it piece by piece.
On the other hand, if you have heaps of money, go for it. Just remember there's no [legal] profit, and you get very little back as a reward. And definitely don't get it if you care what species/colour your pet is. ;)

There IS a reward, you can get avatar pets, and also increase the hit points of your pets without spending fortunes on training, as well as other stats, but they can also go down.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. You might never get all or any of the avatars, though. Honestly, my pet has changed once or twice in what feels like the million times I've used it. (Just shows if I can't remember wether it's one or two changes. :S ) There's always the chance, though.
And also, I was talking more about neopoints. You don't get back what you spend in neopoints like you do with heaps of other avatars.

Edit: One colour change, one species and colour change, and one more colour change. I've kept track of it on notepad. I also had the amount I paid for it somewhere, but I'm not sure where that is.

That's how I bought mine about three years ago, of course people having labray maps was rarer back then, and I ended up spending around 700,000nps for it. :(

I've yet to get an avatar pet, but I've had over 50 colour changes, 12 species changes, and the stats on my labray pet are incredible :D

i should mention that I've only been using my bought lab map for a year (silly me I thought they'd go up in price, not down!) .

I've been labbing since January and am currently on my ninth species change. I've had one avatar pet (a Jetsam) and lots of colour changes. It's just random.

Um.. <looks> what's an avatar pet? I've been using the lab ray for years and I have never heard of that?

I have had 2 jelly pets, (kau and shoryu I think) along with lots of color changes and stat chages. Thing that happens to me most often is the gender change. I also have been reset to level one.

Right now he is a speckled moehog. <shrug> I have seen my pets change to striped, disco, jelly, split, white, brown, etc.

I bought all the pieces individually, and it was around 20-40K per piece. It was awhile ago. Also, I waited till someone put a piece out for 1-1000 NP. :) I think I got 2-3 pieces that way. :)

Look on the SW or now the SSW, and look for the completely odd priced item and click click click! Even if you have that piece already, you can sell it for an amazing profit. (and get back some of the tokens you spent for the map back!)

An avatar pet is a pet you can get an avatar from; Orange Grundo, Island Quiggle, etc...

A pet of a particular species or colour that is needed for a specific avatar. For example, you get the 'Jetsam - Wanna Fight' avatar by using a Jetsam to fight in the Battledome, so when my lab pet turned into a Jetsam I was able to get the avatar.

LABRAY is fun. My only problem is when it changes genders. Use it on a pet you don't care about's color/species/gender. Or keep a morphing potion on hand for when you're done. I started using it again to train Saigeey:

we started on 06/04/06
Species: Kau
Color: Green
Gender : Female
Height : 65 cms.
Weight : 79 lbs.
Hit Points : 94 / 94
Strength : GREAT (36)
Defence : GREAT (27)
Movement : EXCELLENT (44)
Intelligence : ULTIMATE GENIUS (128)

today:
Level : 29
Species: Kau
Color: Brown
Gender : Male
Height : 65 cms.
Weight : 80 lbs.
Hit Points : 119 / 119
Strength : EXCELLENT (45)
Defence : GREAT (29)
Movement : EXCELLENT (45)
Intelligence : ULTIMATE GENIUS (132)

all stats have gone up a bit. I forgot to record level, so don't know about that. It's probably gone up too.
